Any chance on an EasyJet refund??

Hi

I booked a weekend away tonight, and immediately after realised I'd chosen the wrong outbound flight time, so I followed the link to alter it and ended up having to pay £70 in charges!!!!

I mean, it wasn't even 5 minutes in between!! I didn't know whether to completely cancel the trip and re-book (it was through Expedia), so I took the advice on the website and did the change on Easyjet's site.

I think this is a scandal. I mean, what difference could 5 minutes have made to a trip in October?? I appreciate the difference in flight time can effect the price, but I doubt it would have inconvenienced Easyjet or another customer in that time span.

I toyed with ringing them, but past experiences in ringing their Indian call centre really put me off.

Has anyone else had this and successfully challenged it? Don't they make enough money out of us??

Had you telephoned them they would have made the change without charge.

Appears the OP likes to make a rod for his own back....then to complain about it. Book via Easyjet. Call immediately on noticing the mistake.. Jibes about Indian call centres won't endear him to anyone.

Have you considered writing to the Daily Mail? ;)

Had you booked direct with Easyjet you would have been able to call and cancel for refund up to 24 hours after booking as per the T&Cs
    section 6.2 Easyjet T&Cs
Cancellations within 24 hours of making the Booking
If the Booking has been made with the Carrier, the Booking may only be cancelled by telephoning the Carrier’s Customer Service Team.

You chose to book through a third party so you lose the ability to cancel within 24 hours for free as you did not book direct and the Expedia T&Cs are relevant
2 lessons here - book direct with the airline and double check the flight details before you confirm the booking

Too bad, that decision cost you £70.

You're hilarious! Who writes your material?

So it seems, but the fact that the last time I rang them on behalf of my mother influenced my decision. Shame that you don't give people the benefit of the doubt before you have to go into a moral narcissistic rant.

I seem to recall MSE himself bemoaning these off shore call centres, but I take it that was ok by you?
  • Thanks for those who did help and advise.

Those that just want to have digs, I hope you find more happiness in your lives.
  • Update: I just spoke their Indian call centre and this time was dealt with by a terrific rep who refunded me the money without any quibble.

At least you have redeemed yourself for when it came to the jibe about Indian call centres. It would have substance if you had called first and there was a problem with communication.
Now you have a balanced view. One bad experience and one good experience. ;)

Was there a benefit in booking via Expedia?
