    Hi

i had my first shop of the month today, when I bought some fruit and some veg to make soup. I spent £8.08, and I am hoping that that will see me through to Sunday, when I will need to get some milk.

I have never frozen milk before, but I think I might give it a go this month too.

I am pretty short of cash this month, due to paying for some house repairs and the first few Christmas presents, so I am seriously hoping for a lot of NSDs!

  • Morning all,

Please could I be out down for £400 again. I failed dismally last month purely because I didn't pop here and make myself accountable! My month will run from 1st November please.

This is for 2 adults and 3 children one in nappies full time. Kids are home all day and don't stop eating!

Thanks to all organisers. My goals are to be much more frugal in all aspects of our home life so any other challenge suggestions welcome!

    Have a wonderful day :-)

    Hello All,

Please can you put me down for £250.00 for November? This is to cover from October 28th to November 30th, for all grocery/toiletries etc for 2 adults.

Many thanks to those who run this thread.

I have a grocery shop coming today, so I will update with figures once it arrives.

    Good Luck all.

ETA: First shop of the month has cost £75.30, this leaves £174.70.

  • Hello everyone :)
Didn't realize how much we actually spend on groceries!
We're away for a week this month so not going to count anything for that week as already paid for.
As Christmas is upon us and we spent more than I thought I'm going to go a bit higher this month with £220 hoping I can stick within it this month.
Have been doing a lot more cooking at home and did a massive cook yesterday and really enjoyed it. Also been getting meat from the butchers and it is so much nicer than supermarket meat and it makes me feel good because I'm helping a local business :)

It's been a while since I've done a grocery challenge but I've noticed my spending is creeping up. Hence I'd like to aim for:

£160 from the 12th November to 11th December budget month.

This will cover our household basic and all foods and drinks, pets, cleaning, toiletries etc for 2 adults, 2 cats and occasional grown-up sons visits.

I will set aside another budget for Christmas extras. We're not big spenders over the season so hopefully we can keep this budget to a minimum and be frugal.

Good morning, can I please join this challenge and be put down for £250 to run from a shop on Friday till Mon 30th. I haven't a clue what we actually spend but know by our waistlines and bank balances it's too much so time to reduce food bills.

I'm back in again this month but will be the last one for me this year as away for most of December!

Will be sticking at £250 for the month with anything over going towards spending money for our holiday next month.

Hoping to have quite a bit over again from November's budget as am trying to use up a lot of stuff from my outside freezer, which includes quite a lot of meat although only one joint. Will need to buy some joints for the month as we like to have a roast at the weekend with leftovers for during the week.

Can I please be put down for £200. I have seriously fallen off the bandwagon, with all of those little shops on £5 to £10 and are quickly adding up adding hundreds to my grocery budget:eek:. No wonder we weren't saving very much each month after all the bills! This budget includes all food, toiletries for me, my partner, dog and two rabbits. I know it can be done just need to stay focused.

So this month I am going to keep track of every last penny and use this forum as much as possible for motivation/ inspiration and ideas!

I do my shopping online, mainly to save time and end up nipping into shops on my way home if I forgot to order an item and end up spending way too much . So to start with this month all groceries will be done online (Or as much as possible) and if we haven't got it in then we either go without or I improvise.

First time challenge for me! I'd like to try £120 - my freezer is running a bit low so I'll need to do a big shop this weekend (Sunday, of course!) and do some batch cooking and freezing. This is just for me but I don't know what I'm currently spending, so just a guesstimate for now.
