Translation: We can't advertise this but uSwitch has a currently has a very competitive collective Eon tariff.
Thanks,

I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Helena, I am am constantly impressed about how tactful both you and Malc with your advice while keeping in line with the forum rules.
You are both a credit to Eon and really setting an example that other companies are daft not to be taking note of.
I can only presume that a lot of time and effort was put into into finding representatives that weren't going to put their foot in it on a regular basis.0 -

That's very kind, thank you.
Malc and I have been on the MSE forum since 2009, we love it and try to help our customers and of course readers as best we can.
We do have to follow the rules, but this is all just being part of the community so it's fine by us.
I have put my foot in it once or twiceMalc not so much!
Malc however, has gone off on his holidays leaving me to it and I'm part time now, so pretty busy!!
Thanks again

Thanks everyone for the hints.
I have now checked the uswitch offerings so I have numbers for E7 and single rate.
To be clear - I'm in the process of switching to the MSE Collective E7 tariff, so I also have those numbers. For my region and usage, MSE E7 beats uswitch E7 marginally.
All I am missing is the MSE single rate. If it's roughly in line with the uswitch one, then I'm better off asking to change to single rate.
Cheers0 -
I switched with the MSE collective switch and changed over from NPower last Tuesday. I can log into E.On, but the account "is still being set up"... I phoned E.On yesterday and was told it can take up to 30 days before I will be able to log in and submit meter readings, etc.
Is this normal? I can switch a bank account in 7 days, including re-directing direct debits, but E.On don't seem able to fully open an account in a month!
Anyone else struggling to fully log in?0 -

The MSE collective switch is now closed to new applicants.
If you have already applied for the tariff (before the cut off date), you will get the tariff you applied for. If you don't want it, you'll have to cancel completely.0 -

Energyhelpline as well as Quidco (in conjunction with energylinx) both have collective tariff offerings coming up this month too. Possible £40 cashback with the Quidco deal.
I wonder how their prices will compare? And will it still be Eon that offers a good electricity tariff? And if so, I wonder if Eon will improve on their gas prices, as they are not really competitive on those yet in the collective switches.0 -

Indeed
Having just switched to Eon via MSE, it's very much a case of hanging fire this month and seeing what else comes up. And ensuring I'll still get the MSE cashback if I switch again as quickly, providing you do it would be crazy not to switch to the slightly cheaper uSwitch tariff for me. Unless Eon offer something even better elsewhere. I've signed up for the Quidco one so waiting to see what happens there.0 -

Morning Frozen_up_north
It can take a little while for the account to be fully 'live' and to be able to see everything and use all the tools.
We'd normally ask you to provide your start reads via email, letter and then we would pop the reads on for you.
You should however, be able to register your account online anyway and you'll be able to see when things are updated.
If you need me to have a look or check anything for you, please just ask I'm happy to help.

I had access to the account shortly after applying, entered the start read on the go live date of 22nd Sep and could enter normal meter reads before 2 weeks live. The front page still shows the "setting up your account" message but I believe that is to do with the energy saving tool kit.0
