Thanks again stressed.mum, I'll have to have a think about whether or not Ryan needs any additional care - I'm not sure whether it costs me more to care for Ryan or not, but I will definitely keep a diary of the care he needs."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Well, we finally made it to Scarborough yesterday, but I can honestly say I wish we hadn't bothered. Ryan loves to go on the boat that goes up and down the coast, but it wasn't running because the sea was too choppy, and the wind was blowing sand everywhere, which was getting in Natasha's face and upsetting her. Her poor little gums seemed to be hurting her all day too.
And then on the way back to the car, I saw a nasty road rage incident, where a motorist and a scooter rider were having an argument as they were driving along and suddenly the driver of the car swerved into the scooter (he seemed to do it on purpose) and knocked him off. We rang the police and an ambulance, but the poor guy was looking in a bad way by the time the ambulance got there. So I had to speak to the police and give them my details, and they said they may contact me for a statement. There were lots of other witnesses too, who were all telling the police it looked intentional. It makes me feel quite sick that someone would do that, no matter how angry they were. I really hope the scooter guy is okay, I haven't seen anything on the news about it.
Stu bought a big bag of doughnuts to try and take my mind off it (him and Ryan didn't see it thank goodness), so we blew the budget AND my diet as well..."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hi Snaggles
Just wanted to say more power to you. My son, now adult, has Aspergers. He copes now and lives what he feels is a good life. I would have liked more for him but he's happy so what more should I want. It was difficult as he grew up but there is a light ahead. At least it does help to have the diagnosis as there is extra help available such as DLA and when exams arrive often more time there. Peter wasn't diagnosed until almost adult as they weren't into that sort of thing when he was growing up - he was just a 'problem' child.LBM August 2005 £40,000

Hi lovelybirchtrees (that reminds me of the house I grew up in, which had, well, lovely birch trees
).
I think if Ryan (and Natasha for that matter) grow up and have a life they are happy with, then I will be happy too. The most important thing to me is that they are healthy and happy.
Tigtag sent me a lovely email to help me make sense of letting go of what you expected for your child, and embracing what you have actually got - if you (or anyone else who is reading) would like a copy of it, drop me a pm with your email address and I will forward it on. (It's not personal to Ryan, it's just a story about how life doesn't always turn out how you expect)."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Quick Stu-flash (:D) - his CV is fully updated and he has registered with an agency nearby, who are hopeful of having some work for him next week. Fingers crossed!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

OMG Mrs S ~ I cant beleive that ~ how awful.
Really glad that Ryan didnt see it and hope that the scooter guy is ok.
Please try not to dwell on it too much, there is nothing that you could have done to stop the incident and you did more that a lot would have once it had happened.
On a lighter note ~ I hope the piggin weather is like this on Tuesday ~ if it is I am going back to Somerfield to buy their plastic cricket set for £1.50 ~ BARGAIN ~ the kids'll love it
Hugs
