Tigtag/Eva, thanks very much, yes I think it will definitely be easier to help Ryan if we can put a name to what is 'wrong' with him. It will help in our dealings with school etc too.

Tig - I will definitely need all the tips I can get for living on next to no money!! You are all so supportive though - i'm starting to actually believe I can do it xxx

Eva, if you can make any suggestions for where to start looking for info, I would be very grateful. I've been looking on the internet, but it's difficult to know which sites are trustable/up-to-date etc.

Going to dig out my copy of 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time' and re-read that too.....the funny thing is, I remember reading it a couple of years ago and thinking 'this is a lot like Ryan', but never thought any more about it.

    Love from Snaggles xx

    Snaggles,

Another book that has been recommended to me (for my work in school) is Freaks, Geeks and Asberger Syndrome. It was written by Luke Jackson who is has the condition.

Thanks Spud, I will have a look at that one. My head is spinning a bit, but in a good way (and not due to vodka, for once :)).

Yes, I've got it thanks El - going to dig it out and re-read it, as I read it before I really realised Ryan had a problem other than being a bit boisterous and distant.

Hi some websites to get you started:

https://www.nas.org.uk - National Autistic Society, excellent website
https://www.mugsy.org/wendy - this lady has Aspergers Syndrome and gives fantastic infomation about how she copes with it. I've seen her talks a couple of times and is brilliant and obviously has a lot of insight.
https://www.lukejackson.info - not yet up and running but I'm sure this will be interesting.

I've sent you a pm too

    Ev
