    Oops.....I have been slacking haven't I! :D

Just had a really busy weekend, but it's been good - everything going really well, getting on with Stu and starting to feel like a family again.

Our meeting with Camhs was today (hence my lack of posting). Because we already knewthe diagnosis, we didn't really learn anything new, but we were just discussing the things that they had picked up on while they have been assessing him, and discussing what will happen from now on.

Basically, his school will ask a team who specialise in children on the autism spectrum to come in - they will work with the school for a few weeks to get them up to speed on how to deal with things. There's also a parent support group which is once a month, and they run courses etc. The school can apply for funding for some one to one teaching for Ryan, and he will also be referred back to the speech and language therapist.

We will have a follow up assessment with them in a few weeks to see how things are going, and will take it from there.

Because we are coping pretty well with him at home, they will only get involved there if we specifically ask them to.

They were also going to talk to us about how best to share the diagnosis with Ryan but....oops....we already have. :o Apparently we did it in the best possible way though, which is a relief.

We have also got booklets, reports and reading lists coming out of our ears, so lots of things to read and to think about. It's a little bit overwhelming, but we will get there.

Stu has just left for his job interview.......fingers crossed.....

Hmm, sure it was better than my 'sharing' I just told Amber she's as daft as a brush but I'd adore her, however she came :) Not that she's got a clue what I'm on about anyway. I'm sure she thinks I'm the potty one :rotfl:
