Snaggles sorry to hear you were having a rough time... be there done, it last year was horrid. Anyway what I wanted to say was I don't know if it helps but I mananged on just maternity pay, tax credit's, and child benefit when I had my third baby I am not saying it was easy it wasn't but it can be done. And when my maternity pay ran out I mananged to live on £17.45 income support and tax and child benefit with 3 kids that was hard but I needed a couple of more months off work. Within 4 months of returning to work I managed to clear just over 3k of debt and that was with christmas and 3 birthdays.... Sorry to waffle but just to let you know that I am thinking of you.

    Hiya - I'm here :o

Sorry I haven't posted an update yet - things have gone quite well today, I think I have felt less angry too, although I did have a few tears at my Bad Mothers Club (parent survival course) because Stu came with me (day off) and the subject was communication skills, and it focussed quite a lot on marital issues. We did a role play (sounds a bit cheesy, but we all get on well and they are usually quite a laugh), but it was all a bit too close to the mark, and I got upset.

Stu said he was quite touched by the way I spoke about my experiences with Ryan though, and the support we all give each other there......it's the first time he has ever said anything like that.

He has moved back in with us, and we are just taking things slowly, not rushing back into being a couple again. But I'm feeling happier with how things are going.

Thank you all for being there for me when I really needed it. I hope I can do the same for you some day. No, hang on, that isn't right.... I hope you never need me to do the same for you, but if you do, I will be there. :) :A

    Hi there

Hope you don't mind me posting but just had to stick my 2penny worth in(can't stick anymore in as I'm trying to save money!!!). I don't post often but do lurk (in a non creepy kind of way) and read this thread. Snaggles, you've been through so much recently and yet you still keep your sense of humour - I hope things do work out for you. I also love the fact that everyone on here is so friendly but also supportive of each other. Hope none of this sounds too cheesey and makes some sense?

Anyway, have a good weekend everyone xxx

Hi Pilchard - wow, thank you so much! :o And I completely agree about how friendly and supportive everyone is.

I certainly don't mind you posting - I don't mind anyone posting - let's face it, you all put up with my ramblings..:rotfl:

Seriously, the more the merrier, so post away, even if it's only to tell me I'm talking a load of rubbish. :D

Hope you have a good weekend too. xx

Glad to hear things are improving Snags, men often need to have things laid out in front of them before they twig what's going on

Yep. Do that, and you can't really go wrong. Things start misfiring when you try to be subtle.

Hiya, yes, things have gone well today thanks - we were in the car going shopping and Ryan said 'Daddy, look at this', so Stu actually stopped and parked the car, and turned round to look! Ryan felt sooo important - Stu has never done anything like that before, and when he saw how happy Ryan was to have his attention like that, he had tears in his eyes.

It felt like a bit of a breakthrough really - I'm being cautiously optimistic, because I know there's a long way to go, but I can see now how much Stu wants to put things right.

He's started applying for jobs too - as I predicted I have had to update his cv and help him fill in the forms, but strangely I haven't minded at all. :)

Fingers crossed he finds something soon.
