WEll its not what you agreed is it & as you say it upsets Ryan.
    Never mind, sure you'll cope
    Take care
Thanks, it hasn't been too bad but Ryan is asking all sorts of questions now about when he is coming back. I wish he had just waited until tomorrow, because I'm feeling cross about it all again now and wondering if I can ever really get through to him.

He is a man and therefore emotionally stunted...
I know I shoudn't be laughing but.... :rotfl:

But yes, you're right, I think it's his clumsy way of showing he cares.

I'm a bit stressed because he has just turned up out of the blue to see the kids,

Tell him to ring next time - don't be nasty, say something like "So I can have the kettle on" - but it probably never crossed his mind to ring to see his kids in his house.

so I will have to deal with Ryan being upset again tonight when he goes.

I'm sure the feelings of upset will pass for everyone.

I can understand that he wants to see them,

But not his wife, oh dear me no, furthest thing from his mind...

although it's less than 24 hours since he went, but I don't think he quite understands the concept of giving each other space.

If it was your suggestion - he probably doesn't.

Think this must be the 'anger' phase. :o

Don't feel angry at seeing him. I don't think that if the last time you saw him, it was the last time you ever saw him, would be particularly pleasing to you. Am I right?

How long has he known his job was under threat?

    Good idea, I will do.

Sorry, i must sound bitter and irrational, but this has really come about because I DON'T feel loved and valued.....I am always waaay down the priority list, after work, his sister, his Mum, his mates, alcohol, the ironing....
If it was your suggestion - he probably doesn't.
I didn't exactly suggest it, he said 'you want me to go, don't you', and I didn't answer (didn't really know what to say), so he just went upstairs, packed a bag and left. I sent him two texts later on to ask him to let me know he was safe, and he didn't reply.

Don't feel angry at seeing him. I don't think that if the last time you saw him, it was the last time you ever saw him, would be particularly pleasing to you. Am I right?

Yes, you are right - I've been really calm and haven't raised my voice once through all of this, partly for this reason and partly because I don't want to cause Ryan any unnecessary stress or unhappiness. But I don't want to just give in and say everything is okay and we can go back to normal, because I can't live with how things were any longer.

As far as his job goes, they were all set to take him on permanently a couple of months ago, but he has had a few (minor) bumps in the van, and has blown his chances. They are now laying off all the temps, so he will be out of work again for the second time in 6 months.

He will probably find something else, but only if I type his CV for him, help him fill in the application forms, help him come up with things to say during interviews, lick and seal the envelopes and stick them in the letter box for him... I don't want to be his bloody mother for goodness sake . (oops, anger again... :o)
