I actually bought a Fujitsu PC with a CRT monitor from Tesco once upon a time. Fujitsu was actually an upmarket brand, but they were floundering down at the retail end. High quality standard throughout, down to the bundled external speakers, with a subwoofer!
Sadly, they are so good at minimum engineering these days, you rarely get a bargain like that.0 -
Why do you want a DESKTOP pc , then pay extra for a monitor and keyboard and not play games on it for £229
Why not get a laptop for £229 comes with screen and keyboard for free , so amazing

Horrible laptop horrible CPU, avoid.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
I don't play games but much prefer desktop over a laptop. Twin 24" monitor setup for a start. More storage space by having the ability to add more hard drives, etc.0

If I was the OP on a tight budget, my choice would have been for the ASUS and monitor for £169.99 in post #5.
Simply because the basic spec is adequate and there is space for expansion.
Though this choice only because the OP is relatively inexperienced, as a Custom option would be superior.
The Lenovo? Not really. I only posted it because of the price of £140.But then the OP took leave of their senses deciding that it was worth paying £240 for it. Single RAM slot...so expensive to increase RAM.
If no monitor needed, then perhaps this HP 110-210ea Desktop PC(F6J45EA#ABU) for £160
If one wanted the cheapest of the cheap, there is this Lenovo H515 for £100. But the CPU is poor.0 -

Toshiba C50D-B-120 Satellite
Believe it or not, I am using it right now.
At £229.99 , I wouldn't have, but at £169.99 , during a three day event a few weeks ago, it was too good to say no. It was a bit sluggish under Windows 8.1, and the upgrade to Windows 10 took an eternity, but it's fine under 10.
No good as your only computer, because it has no DVD drive.
I love it, though, because it's lighter to carry. The battery life makes it possible to use on the move.0 -
I recommend John lewis....no quibble returns policy and often longer basic guarantee on electrical items than most places offer.
Wouldn't go anywhere else0 -
Not a lot of people know about Argos on Ebay.
They sell mainly returned/refurbished/end of line stock at much reduced prices.
I got a brand new Toshiba L50 B 1UV laptop in white for £229.99. Only one problem - a couple of tiny marks on the lid. Works like a dream with 8GB Ram and a one terabyte hard disk, now using the new Windows 10 system.
