darning? I have a needle you can borrow
I've had. a man chop some logs for me last weekend. i showed him how to use a router table today
I did feel all vulnerable female whilst he was chopping my logs.....but he got me on a weekend. During the week he's learned how to use a router......and he probably won't come back this weekend
yesterday we had computer problems, no e mails were being downloaded all morning.
I knew it was just an update problem so I was not phased. Early on I didn't have a chance to deal with it so I just opened the mysky page and just checked to see if any important emails had come in - only 1 important one.
I got side tracked by the spam page which doe not get downloaded so I skimmed through that before deleting it.
by the time OH came home I was just doing the usual computer housekeeping jobs - c clean, cookie clearing, virus check etc before shutting the computer down and doing a restart.
OH then decided it was one of his Manly Jobs - like emptying the cat litter tray, fire lighting and wood chopping so he took over computer fixing - I am quite capable of diagnosing a computer that needs an update, a shut down and a restart.
The trouble is now when I actually do need him to undertake a tricky Manly Job he will go into full dram queen rant about litter trays, fires, wood chopping and computer fixing and that his tasks are endless and his life is insufferable ...:rotfl:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. These are the worst invention/idea ever! If someone has proved their competence and been able to pass a test, they should not have to have these on their car, they are like a red rag to a bull. There was a school near me, where all the students were advised to take these off their cars, as people were looking for them, and then getting infront of the P plated cars and slamming their brakes on, hoping that the inexperienced drivers would crash into the back of them for a nice juicy insurance claim.
I agree. We never put P plates on the car for DS1 or 2. We did suggest that they drive on their own first without taking passengers.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When I got up this morning the outside thermometer was reading 2 degrees C:eek::eek:
Congratulations to your DD FC. I am curious, will DS2 permit her to drive him anywhere?
As for people messing about in front of new drivers, I suspect they may be picking on the wrong people. My DD passed just before that time when there was deep snow around. Some idiot overtook her late at night (she worked in a cinema at the time) then cut in and braked heavily, she stopped just in time in what should have been an impossible spaceThe young do have fantastic reactions.
The funny thing was there was an off duty police officer in the car behind my DD, he really tore the driver off a strip and praised my DD:D
I expect he will if it's convenient for himhe was rather nonchalant about all the excitement yesterday.
His Dad asked him if he was joining us on going out with her yesterday He said he wasn't because we weren't going anywhere and what's the point of going out if you're just going out to drive around and come back again.0 -
What to buy for £10+ from Amazon, that Amazon actually sell :search:
I bought a £40 gift card and got the £10 free, now I'm thinking what the heck can I get without signing up for Prime. I suppose I could take the trial then cancel.
It's giving me a headache thinking about it at this time of the morning but I've only got 2 days left  and haven't got a clue. Oh, and there's the £20 thingy now isn't there
Off for my shower
Hope the poolies are ok, I'm still wheezy and coughing with a runny tap :cool:There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -
Good morning all....
Fleas...We have our cat injected with program every 6 months it stops the breeding cycle of the flea and has worked perfectly for us for years on this cat and the previous one.....might be worth a look into doing especially as its done by the vet when boosters are due...
Cant remember the exact price but I think it works out no more expensive than a monthly flea treatment topped up with something like acclaim that you would use on the carpets.
Congrats on another elite offspring passing their driving test....FC my DS passed almost 3 months ago and he's loving the car, although I must admit in the beginning I was soooo worried each time he went out .
Another vote for dropping the P plate from me...it can be a red rag to a bull and actually it was in the end DS's choice to not have one...we do however have a black box fitted and that is really good and I would recommend anyone with a young driver looking into that option...not only does it reduce the insurance premium but a weekly update is sent to us to show the stats of driving and the fact he knows its there is enough to make him a considerate driver.
We also opted for a new little nippy car and bought it a month before he took his test just so it was there for when he passed and as an incentive...I loved driving it and was just a little sad to hand it over....
I need shopping today...real food
Nice to see nerfy back last night...sorry I missed him!
have a great day allfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
Do you know I happen to have one from the M&S sale last year. :rotfl:
Don't even go there if you haven't got any patience took me ages with the way they lump all the colours together and you have to find which one is actually the sale price and then find that is the colour out of stock. They really need an IT overhaul, either something is in the sale or it isn't.
the marks site leaves me fuming - I think its easier to actually go into a store and have a rummage for what is actually on the rails“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Question for cruisers. If we go on this cruise, are we less likely to get a noisy cabin if we book an outside one? It really is last minute and the only options open to us would be inside guarantee or outside guarantee, we can't choose the cabin.
Still pondering, noise is one of the few things we are dubious about. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I've also got the £10 Amazon challenge and I did find some cheap cat food last night in the big 48 boxes. I started to move through the buying process but stopped as I realised I was being charged for shipping as much as the cat food
its the only thing I can think of that we are always in need of.
For the £20 thing from Amex on head for points they give a link whereby you can just directly top up with Amazon balance.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. I might go and do a tour of cheap shops today. I have a list of things needed to buy from them. Spicy rice crackers from poundland (for me
) I need new fleece blankets and cushioned mats for the pet beds, a selection of batteries , cheap fairy lights and I'm sure there's loads more on my list when I find it.

the cabins are so well insulated its not really an issue.
the main noise you might find annoying is people who stroll back to their cabins at 3 in the morning and slam doors but that cant be helped. Or if you are outside a crew work station and you like to lie in bed until 11 in the morning then there will be a lot of banging and noises and talking.
is there a lot of price difference between an inside and an outside? if its say less than £100 or so then you might as well go for the outside.
Insides are good if you think your bar bill is going to be big
also if you are a poor traveller inside cabins might be better - you can just go and lie down and ignore the sea outside.
we have had guarantee cabins before on several ships with no issues whatsoever.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
