Yes at the moment plugged into test socket. The telephone extension lead seems to be hard wired in to it at the side. Hubby is quite clever at that sort of stuff so he should be able to sort it but thanks for the offer of help :)

All he needs to do is put the socket back together then :D Don't let him tell you it was a complicated job :D

We did try that the other day but with no luck but that was before the infinity was activated. Just found it so awkward not having broadband that very loath to do anything to it now.

this is a good website to bookmark to check on Mondays and Tuesdays.

    http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/united-kingdom/index.shtml

register, log in and go to the Find hotels tab.
at the bottom of this page is a promo box and in it put

    MONDAY.

you can then search for hotels for the following weekend with special rates - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - Ibis £25, mecure and Novohotels £40 - a bit more expensive for London.

so the cities I always check - Saturdays are always rare and the good ones go quick

Stratford on Avon Mecure £40 Friday and Sunday

York - Friday and Sunday but not saturday
    Ibis £25 city centre
Mecure £40 - on the ring road outside next to the park and ride

Edinburgh Quay Mecure - £40 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday
    Edinburgh Ibis south bridge £25

Glasgow - Mecure and Nohotel for £40

London - I try Greenwich which gives you some of the city centre ones, loads of Novohotel and Mecure for £40 -

OK, it takes a bit of organising to get child, cat, dog and house sitters so short notice but its good to be spontaneous sometimes

With the builder being here for the last 3 weekends and visitors this weekend I have extremely itchy feet - not been anywhere all month apart from one evening in Chester but hopefully someone can find a nice weekend room :)

Oh mhoc, you've given me food for thought here!
I'm looking at planning a return trip to Glasgow next month, so do I now wait and attempt to book through this and get a bargain, or book in advance and know I have somewhere sorted?! Decisions decisions :rotfl:

If that was the case then a wire may have come off the top part of the socket that feeds the extension/s, there should be a minimum of one wire on each of points 2 and 5, probably blue and blue/white. Again, something easily solved, should not really have anything to do with infinity being activated.

So where is your router if it is not feeding the extensions? Not really relevant but should be just that socket working!

We find some very strange things going on with cabling when we go out to clients. It is not unusual to be called out by a customer because BT have told them there is no fault on the line and they would have to pay for the call out if it is an internal problem, we get there and test and there is no line  We also get people mystified by the fact that they can get broadband but they don't actually have a dial tone :rotfl::rotfl:

Morning all. Hope everyone is well.
I'm confused about the sweets - thought I would get some in the hope of cinema tickets but in MSM they show £2.09 at A and £2 at M?

    difficult isn't it.

I suppose you have to figure out if you are going by car or by train - if you need to think about parking.

also can you go sooner rather than later - can you organise the cat/dog/house/child care at short notice.

I expect half term weekends before and after will be full in which case you might be better checking sooner rather than later booking.com or late rooms esp if a Saturday is involved.

I've only been to Glasgow once I think, we had to walk, about 6 in the morning from one station across to the other - it did look very walkable and a beautiful city.

so if you have both Novohotel and mecure actually in the city centre its a good choice esp if one of them has a pool.
also city centre means no expensive taxis or strange bus services and you don't have to worry about meals - breakfast at greggs - groupon or Livingsocial deals for dinner :D

MSM is good as a guide but APG doesn't take any notice of it whatsoever. Take what it says with a large pinch of salt

That being said, M.com shows they are now £2 so MSM is probably right but it might only get noted by the in-store APG checkers today and updated on APG in a couple of days time

eg The 2 for £7 on the big tubs of chocs in M ended yesterday but the APG might well continue to compare beyond the end date

Let's see what any APG results actually say....

Normally the router plugs into the front of that socket (via a filter). Its a bit of a pain it being in the loft but we were advised that years ago by BT man.

Actually Enterprise, ther is one thing we were unsure about. Are the new filters that came with our new homehub the same as the old ones or not?
