My eldest and her BF did the same this weekend - drove up from St Albans to somewhere near Bamburgh castle (?) for a friends wedding - it must be gorgeous up there this weekend.

One heck of a drive though

So these 2 are 178 miles away from us up North, one son and his GF are in China, the other son has gone on a three hour drive to Calgary and his GF is in Moscow - could we possibly be more spread about :D

You need to send Mr mhoc on a road trip to compound things:rotfl:

I should have invited Dotty to the party not a single can of carling got drunk. And I bought 2 cases. :o

Seems people brought their own or drank the beer Mr TS got from the micro brewerys or wine which I notice we have gained couple bottles.

But worse of all no champagne got drunk put 3 bottles in freezer to get cold quick and forgot about them, well and truly frozen solid by time remembered several hours later. :o

Left them out in garage so hope no corks popped overnight and it's still drinkable.

Oh no""...hope it wasn't the best champagne :o won't the corks pop as it thaws?

Can't see the corks popping when it thaws, might be wrong though, but suspect it could well be flat :(

Has everyone used their hSamuels £5 gift e vouchers and if so what did you get?

I just wanted a nice pendant without spending too much extra on top but all I could see was a weird cone shaped thing.
    Or a nice bracelet

He's awake now and I'm just waiting in him to get dressed. He still wants to go, as does house guest. DD had a late one so I won't be cruel and wake her........yet :D

Attempt #2 at cooking a pork joint later for dinner. The dog really enjoyed my last attempt a couple of weeks ago.:rotfl::rotfl:

Hope your heads clears and you have a good day :A

An easy way to cook a beef joint is put in oven at 10 pm

firstly heat your oven to 100 boil the kettle line the dish with tin foil

put beef in dish then pour boiling water from the kettle over the beef make sure it has sealed the beef to a pinky colour
then close the tin foil around the beef place in oven at 100 then go to bed this meat will slowly cook and be ok to take out at 8 or 9 the next morning ..... another thing is if you dont want the beef to be pink in the middle (as i dont) i will cut the joint before sealing in half
or quarters depending on the size of the joint and then the meat is cooked all the way through :)

Are you secretly relieved that it's over TS?

I wish it was invites that went out were for today as well thankfully not everyone has taken him up on it. And I have been assured no one will arrive before 2pm.

I didn't stop yesterday as needed to be clear for evening caterer by 6.30 and knew couldn't leave too much to do today. Didn't get to bed until 1am most be left by 11pm but we had a couple of stragglers. :o

Oooh I must thank M4RT1N those mason glasses went down a treat.

And I still have all of my 4p wine glasses intact. Still feel really bad I was only one ever lucky to find them. :rotfl:

I just bung been joints in the slow cooker for about 8-9 hours, come out extremely tender :D

Pork joints are another kettle of fish entirely, especially if you want crackling on them, good idea to start them on high for half an hour then turn down to about 160/170 and cook till done :)
