just popped to my spar shop for a pint of milk.as i walked in the assistant had a whole trolley of 4pt skimmed milk that was one day out of date. I asked if I could but a couple ( 30p) but the supervisor said no it might poison me. What is wrong with the world that we can throw away so much food!!0

That is ridiculous! We often drink out of date milk, perfectly good until it goes lumpy. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I was in Ts once when they were throwing loads from previous day that had got missed during whoopsie round. It was very sad they actually loaded it into the blue bags on shop floor not often you see it actually happen. I would have quite happily taken the lot.0 -

while i totaly agree, its against the law.if anything was found for sale past its date where i worked it was a serious disciplinery incident.company could be prosecuted, even the staff were not allowed to buy it.i watched alot of smoked salmon thrown in the skip that was only 6hrs out of date but still had to go.:(0 -

Funny, I actually thought of you this morning and wondered if it had reached you:) I was just nodding off when it happened and it was the noise that startled me

I think supermarkets should be more responsible when their stock ordering has gone wrong and they have a glut of something that in reality is not going to sell bigger reductions need to be made earlier in day to give chance for it to go.
Was once late in Ts and 2 cages of eggs brought out first reduction to 20p but after 9pm no one about to buy them. They had done normal whoopsies first. But these should have been reduced far earlier in day. I think waitrose reduce earlier sure zippy would know.
I don't know what answer is for odd things that are left to expiry.0
