insurance....car park/private parking

You can't conclude anything from that.....it is the same price premium for public car park as it is private(strange i know).....
Often there is no extra charge for adding business use to your cover.
Nevertheless anyone caught on a business journey without this cover gets done for driving without insurance.0 -
never wanted an arguement here was simply looking for some advice
the underwriters of the insurance want images of where i park to decide what they class it as
it was my understanding that when you take out insurance you answer all questions "to the best of your ability" and i believe its private?
I think the point with this one is if you park on private land (a driveway for example), you aren't parked directly next to someone elses car. If you park in a space you own but it is a carpark style layout, there is a higher probability of your car door being hit by the person who owns the space next to you. They couldn't give two hoots if you own the land or someone else does.
You need to make sure the information you give to insurers is correct. If you have any questions or aren't sure, you should have rung them.0 -

Well I park on my driveway, directly next to my wife's car, which is also on the driveway - as it's a double-width drive: a very common arrangement. My postings reflect my lifetime's experience and my opinion. You are quite welcome to respond with your experiences and option, whether similar or different.0 -

But you and your wife own both cars and are therefore more likely to be considerate when opening the doors of either car.
The OP parks next to someone else who may or may not exercise the same caution when opening the door of their car.0 -
and everyone owns one where they are, therefore its not a public car park
Public car park would usually mean where other members of the public have the ability to access and park there (even if they're not supposed to
Private is pretty vague but i imagine if it had security gates where people can't gain entry without a card / pin or similar then it might be classed as more private.
It's likely they won't void the policy but they might charge you the extra premium you would have paid if they had known it was in car park available to the public. All your base are belong to us.0
