Unfair Vodafone 'default' on my credit report
Options
Hello Lee,
I have a similar problem and noticed you were very useful. I need your help! I am living hell!
I was a customer of Vodafone from 2011 until 2014-end. I have always made my payments in time. At the end of 2014, i decided to terminate early my contract with Vodafone. I paid the Early Termination fee in December 2014 and was told that the account was closed, the amount was GBP145.93. I then used the PAC number to move to another provider. It seems my account was never closed and i was made aware of that.
I found out today via Equifax that i had defaulted on a debt from Vodafone amounting 42.52 GBP. I have never been contacted for this. I changed address mid-december and didn't let Vodafone know since my contract was terminated (or i thought it was). I have been told they sent 1 letter in January to my old address but never received it....
As soon as I found the notice of default I immediately paid the balance in full (Vodafone Ref: 007568). The amount which was owing was a very small amount £42.52! and Vodafone would appear to have had thousands of pounds from my account over the years without any issue. I also have another account with them (business account), hence they knew how to contact me.
It seems very harsh that the effect this small amount of money has had to my credit file is devastating and is seriously affecting my ability to buy a home. I would like to the notice of default removed and any reference to default or late payment removed from my credit file. I would appreciate an email to discuss this matter at your earliest convenience.
Please Help!

Hi Lee,
I sent you an email on VODAFONE.
I checked my credit report on CREDIT COMPASS and noticed my default from VODAFONE payment was still showing up. I have been told that it was a mistake and it has been removed, can you look into this asap please?0 -
