I think we might have the thread's first PENGUIN:
I saw a man kick his dog this morning, and I didn't stop and do anything, and now I feel so guilty that I can't stop crying. It ran into the road, he grabbed it by the scruff of the neck and kicked it when he got onto the grass verge.
It wasn't safe for me to stop the car and get out, which is why I didn't, and the dog was pottering around OK afterwards, but I wanted to get out and smack him one and take the poor little dog awaynow I can't stop thinking about it and just hope it's OK
I feel like if it gets hurt again then it's my fault and I don't know what to do for the best
End penguin.

Hugs to HBS and Faerie, all many hugs and virtual cakes and soothing pats.
Faerie, it's terrible the way you've been messed aroundI wish I could think of a way to spark the services into listening. Is there a crisis team in your area? Or a charity that provide crisis support? I don't know where you are, but in Scotland we have SAMH who can provide support. Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx
HBS, I'd probably feel the samebut it isn't your fault, you did not cause it to happen. Is there something you could do instead to offset the guilt? A small donation to a shelter, or giving them some old towels etc? All the hugs, you did the right thing by not stopping when it could possibly have led to an accident xx

Oh what a good idea, I will pop some pet food into the collection box at my local supermarket. Thank you dragonette

I posted about something similar a few weeks ago HBS and I still feel awful about it. I do try and remind myself of the good things I do though to offset it.
I always think 'next time I will do something' but still I often don't. I wish I were braver with things like that.
Little Sod was beautifully behaved at the vets earlier, the Vet even commented on it. Usually they need to get most of the Vet nurses in to help out, but today just me and the Vet managed. He even gave her a kiss after his injections (with no teeth!).0 -
HBS, even by posting about it, you are doing little dog a positive service. It makes us think about it and send it good wishes, and also makes us think about what we may do in another circumstance. I think you did what you could in that situation at that time.
When I see or hear something distressing, I go into 'save the world' mode. As part of my mh issues, I always want to do far more than I need to do to compensate. (I hate others suffering because I know what it is like to suffer). I am a firm believer that if we all do small actions then there is a cumulative effect that is tremendous. We don't need to kill ourselves with heroic efforts - the adrenaline rush would have adverse effects. Look after ourselves first, then we are better at helping others.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Welly - oh definitely you should write something about pregnancy. I have never fancied kids myself and I am in awe of anyone who can process and deal with pregnancy as I don't think I could - but my sister has three and I guess I picked up a lot of information from her. I remember my sister in law, at 8 months pregnant, being completely shocked when I told her she would poop when she gave birth - she was horrified and I could not believe that in reading all the books and going to all the classes she had not know.
Calley - yea to minions!!! As well as power tools for my birthday - the other half of my gifts were minion related!!!! Minion balllon, minion card, minion, key rings, etc etc.............absolutely love them........THat is me - that is the sort of trouble I get into, so innocently......and DH says I am a purple minion when I am having a bad day.........which makes me laugh and start doing purple minion noises instead......at nearly 40, you'd think I woulda growed up by now.........not a chance.......... **runs off shouting banana in a minion voice**
Ok - gotta stop procrastinating and delaying........... back off out to the garden to start building walls........... got up late and back is hurting before I've even started so think half my brain is screaming nooooooo.

Flybaby, if your back is hurting after laying all those paving stones, and everything else, you really shouldhave at least a day off from doing any more heavy work/bending down/lifting, etc.
Seriously. Take it from one who knows.
And use ice packs on the hurting bit.
If you carry on while your back is hurting, you could well do some damage.
Please? :A
Welly! that confused me for a moment! Do you want us to call you Welly? Or the previous one?(I just lurve spiders!)
