Car seized for no insurance!!

Hi guys,
Basically I've just had my car seized by police for surprised no insurance I haven't had any reason or letter to suggest I was not insured.
They informed me that my insurance was cancelled on 16.06.15 due to the v5 I produced to insurance company was different to the v5 I sent them as confirmation. They said the first was from 2014 and then when I produced it, it was 2015 which is impossible because I haven't been insured with LV before 2015.
I haven't had any letters or email saying that my insurance was cancelled. I paid for car insurance in full and they did refund the money but I do no look at statements for my credit card as I do not do any regular spending on it.
They (the insurance company) said that there was a charge of £27 for the mess with the v5 which I didn't pay so they cancelled my insurance.
Basically I need help as to where I stand as I cannot speak to insurance company until the morning. And what to do next other It's possible I will get 6points and a fine!!! HEEELLPPPP!!!

I've never had an insurance company ask for a V5 either.0

Need more info.
Why would you need to produce your V5 to the insurance co in the first place? And in any case, what were the differences being alleged?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
somebody is very confused and this will cost you six points and a three hundred pound fine if you were driving at the time the car was seized, plus the cost of getting the car out of the pound when you sort your insurance0

call them and ask them to check if they have sent out any letters or e-mails to you about it. they might have also tried to contact you on your phone if you gave them your number.
if you haven't changed your contact details (address, e-mail, phone number etc) and didn't get it, then they might be at fault. if they didn't warn you that your insurance is being cancelled, it is their fault.0 -

They have to serve a 7 day notice by writing by post.
They have to prove service.
Keep the certificate, do not let them get their hands on it and wait for a summons and pay for a motoring solicitor.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
As others have asked, why did the insurer ask to see the V5C in the first place, why would you have a 2014- and a 2015- issue V5C, and what difference are they suggesting is relevant?
When did you move, is your post being forwarded, and have you informed your insurer of your new address yet?
If this really is an error on your insurer's part, then you should be able to get the car back without any conviction, and they should cover any costs arising from the seizure.0 -
I wonder if there is something the OP is omitting from this thread, has the car been modified or even involved in a collision , or history of being a stolen vehicle?0
