I bought a primp t shirt from a website in America when everyone was wearing them 2 years ago,I still have it now, been worn and washed loads of times and still like new, they were selling them in t k maxx last year for 9.99,a bargain compared to the £80 I paid,I bought one, wore it once, washed it and all the diamontes dropped off!!after one wash!! I really think you have to be careful with some of the things you buy,I personally think most of their stuff are seconds.0

I am tempted the Jacaranda cardis too, they are a really nice colour and a total bargain but I'm not sure how much I'd wear them and I did just buy tall navy classics last week.
I really wish had more purple clothes so I had a good excuse to get them!0 -

i also bought a couple of primp t shirts and a zip up hoody jacket from tkmaxx, mine have been fine. i have a primp t shirt from asos.com as well and another from spoiled brat. they are all genuine.
i have had a fake primp top from ebay, it was meant to be a ribbed thermal top, but was so thin it was practically see through.0 -
Just to note- I have a pair of Uggs bought about 5 years ago, they are black. I am pretty sure they are genuine being that they have 1. lasted so long and 2. come from a reputable source which I paid the full wack (minus student discount). They were bought from Topshop Oxford Circus.
The reason I am mentioning them is because they have BLACK lining- not cream (which was mentioned above) I have also been to the Ugg store in Westfield and seen Uggs with lining coloured in colours other then cream. Don't disagree that the TK Maxx ones could well be fake, and thanks for the heads up, but the colour thing- the staff member who told you that was telling porkies- unless the Ugg stores in Westfield and Covent Garden also sell fakes!0 -

thanks, JennieWB. If you don't mind , would you be able to check if your black 2005 boots have 100% wool on a thin care label. Also what's the sole like when you press it?
I reckon that if I bought these black boots and then sold them on ebay, I would have one very angry buyer if they ever checked the ways to tell if they are fake. I would have no proof if they were indeed from that period of time, and in the state they are in are totally not worth the price of £60.
I can't imagine Ugg Australia 'seconds' to make it all the way over here, and still be around brand new after all this time, but it could well be the case with the brown pair. The black, with the glue everywhere, the loose threads, the shiney cheap slipper foam looking sole - not so much.
Forgot to add, the 'sun' on the sole looked like a crude copy. Also the part of the sole where the flat part meets the embossed design was a straight line, which as far as i've researched indicates a fake.0 -
My other half works for a big she company. We often go into TK Maxx and he will spot shoes on sale and know they story behind how it got there. Some of the stuff that has been on the shelves over the past 6 months have been shoes that were made a good 10 years ago and someone has just had to get them shifted from a stock room.
Whilst they could be fake Uggs bought unknowingly, they could have literally been cast off samples as well from way back, whilst they were playing around with different uppers to soles. TK Maxx pay peanuts for the stock they buy in bulk, but it really could just be old samples.
I bought my first pair of Uggs this week, the cardi ones from Shudoo. I was really surprised how cheap and nasty the sole unit is on them and they are real ones!0 -
Thankyou Bootman for the info! You're right they could be primary prototypes. If I were UGG Australia, i'd have made sure these were destroyed, or all UGG labels removed. If they end up in circulation, some people could come to the conclusion that all of the UGG Classics are of that same quality.
These looked like they were joke Uggs, I knew I should have taken pictures of them...
All in all, my warning has evolved:
Don't expect all items from there to be 100% real without question. It's entirely possible they could have slipped through the net. Assume some may be seconds and look at the overall quality. Assume some items may be samples and that the quality may be inferior to the actual finished product. Let's face it, these items are priced based on the name they are adorned with, not the quality of the item. Paying £60 for a BAD prototype possibly years getting passed from here to there is not my idea of a bargainJust thought i'd let you all know what I found. Thanks!
