To buy UGG boots, stick with reputable websites / those that are recommended by DECKERS:
amazon
shudoo
ASOS
Hartings (?)
Schuh
Office
Do NOT go to any websites that have the word UGG in them - although if you want Australian sheepskin boots you will find UGG in the title, but if you want the "UGG Australia" boots, then websites like "UGGsforUk.com" etc are just selling fakes, I promise you.
Another surefire way of telling if a website is selling fakes is a website that doesn't give out any contact address - phone numbers and emails are fine, but they dont have to be answered. Contact address usually shows a company is genuine.
Also, a lot of these fake websites have either poor grammar or dodgy spelling - often written by people from China selling fakes out of China, and passing them off as UK.
Finally, if it's too good to be true, then it usually is! And dont bother with ebay, most of fakes - some VERY GOOD fakes I hasten to add. I have been stung myself..I am finally a homeowner!!:beer:0 -

Ok so I just bought some cardy's from Ebay - I'm pretty convinced now that they are fakes as the buttons are too big on the fold down ?
These are the ones I bought ...
This is the link to the 'official site'
http://www.uggaustralia.com/gb/ProductDetails.aspx?gID=w&productID=5819&model=Classic+Cardy
Anyone care to offer an opinion ?
I'll email seller telling her not to bother posting if consensus is that they are fakes...
Thanks
The one on the right is just buttoned up wrong. the other side of the buttons are smaller. i ordered some from asos.com and they came buttoned up wrong like the one on the right above.0 -
Hey everyone, I usually lurk around the forums looking for deals and rarely post, but I had to post a WARNING for fellow buyers and buyers of Ugg Boots.
Yesterday I visited my local TK MAXX store in Northamptonshire. It was at around 9:30, so when I spotted TWO pairs of Ugg Australia Classic Short boots at £59.99 each, I was amazed and felt quite proud that I had gotten there before anyone else found them. I bought the Chocolate brown pair immediately. I pondered over the other pair for a couple of hours and asked my mother to pick up the other pair for me, a black pair.
When I took them home I was really pleased, I checked the Ugg Australia official site to see how much I had saved only to find the chocolate brown Ugg boots had a chocolate brown sole to match the colour of the boot. My pair had a tan sole. I search around for a long time trying to find out if these were the real deal. I found out alot of ways to tell if your Ugg boots are real and they seemed spot on, apart from the sole.....and the fact there was no sizing or care label tag on the inside. Nevermind I thought, they must have taken it out and that's why they were cheap. I also found that Chocolate brown used to have a tan sole until June/July 2007.
I phoned my mother to ask about the black pair as I hadn't collected them yet. I asked her if they had a tag. Sure enough they had a tag. I asked her if the tag said "made in china". She said "nope, it's ok, they said made in Australia". This sent alarm bells ringing as I was quite sure that Ugg Australia boots were now only made in china, and a tag that says Australia/New Zealand, turned out to be fakes. I was shocked, so I ran over to my mothers house to further inspect the black pair, expecting her to be wrong.
These boots were awful, they were light, cheap, the material was thin, the fur on the inside was bobbly. The sole fur (supposed to be cream in all of the colours regardless of the colour of the fur in the inside leg area) was black. The design on the underside of the sole was all wrong. The toe of the boot was flat to a point, instead of the rounded look. This is the standard look of a fake. The tag on the inside was not woven, but a thin scrunched up printed tag. There was glue all around these shoes, and the sole was rigid when pressed (taking the toe area and the heel in each palm of your hand and pushing together) instead of the flexible rubbery feel of the real deal. The boots, supposedly sheepskin, said 'wool' and had no smell.
The labels on the heels of both boots were wonky, something I hadn't spotted in my haste to buy the first. Upon closer inspection of the brown boots, there were errors in the lining up of the binding (the rim).
I would still say that the brown pair were 100% real if it wasn't for the very bad construction of the black boots (and the fact there was no tag).
All in all I am completely sure that TK MAXX sold me at least one pair of FAKE Ugg Australia Boots. I have since taken them back, and wondered if they had such a low price because they were trying to get rid of them quickly. What struck me as odd was that these shoes didn't have the RRP on the tag like the others I have seen for sale in there at close to full price (£140) did. When I returned the boots today, the lady didn't even question me about why I thought they were fake, or to try and say that thier stock had been bought by a reputable source. In fact she didn't say anything, just gave me my money back.
I will now either completely avoid all designer items, expecially bags and other high priced designer items, as I am not sure how to tell if they are real or not. I only really shop in Tk Maxx for thier homeware.
I know £60 is cheap for Ugg boots, but for these particular boots, it was at least £50 too much.
Sorry for the long post, I just didn't know where else to put this and wanted others to be aware of what can happen, even in a big highstreet chain. If anyone knows who I should contact about this, to make sure that Tk Maxx cannot allow another customer to buy fakes, whether Tk Maxx knows or not, i'd appreciate it very much. Alternatively, if there is a more appropriate place to post this, point me in the right direction
They just sound like old stock to me, rather than fakes. I've bought lots of shoes and boots from tkmaxx including uggs and emus and they are all genuine. I have seen choc brown uggs in there with tan soles instead of brown soles. They were genuine just old stock imo.0 -

I thought so too but the black pair were so obviously fake it's unreal. I'd put money on it. Everything that is wrong with any fake 'Ugg Australia' boot was incorporated into this pair. I really did do my research before I took them back and was specifically looking for pre srping/summer 2007 styles. I have tried on several Ugg boots over this time debating whether to pay the price, and never did they feel so cheap, and were so cheaply made. I doubt the complete style and quality of the boot would change so drastically, yet the price remain fairly consistant.
If there was one only one thing questionable about both pairs I would have kept them. I do know that until mid 2007 the chocolate had a tan sole. The chocolate pair were very well made apart from the wonky heel labels, and the uneven rim, but fakes are getting better.
I have also researched fake items being sold in Tk Maxx through google, and apparently others have ran into problems with items bought from there. For instance, a D&G T Shirt with a DC Shoes label in the collar. Another lady had some mocassins, which she normally bought for alot of money, highly discounted. Like me, she bought them with glee, only to compare them to the real thing she already had, and found them to be fake. It is possible that some counterfeit items have made it into TK Maxx stores, so be vigilant, and don't assume, that just because it's in a popular brick and mortar store that it's always real. By all means, if others wished to buy them, and were happy regardless of the construction, then so be it. But you can buy fakes for £40, and you'd save yourself a good £20.
Sigh....I wanted them to be real, believe me...0 -
