I emailed Deckers the other day, but it seems as though I emailed the wrong people (the distributors) they still replied though, and here is what they said:

    Hi Charlotte

    Thanks for your recent email.

We do not sell directly to the public. We are the UK distrubutors. I know that uggs are made in China, Australia and in the USA and this is all dependent on the style of boot. I'd recommend that you contact www.uggaustralia.com if you need any further information.

I hope that this is helpful.

    Kind regards

So it looks like they are made in Aus.. and this has definitely been confirmed now, by a number of people. I have no worries about the authenticity of the products, only about the quality of the stitching.

Oh, and ansi (I think it was you who asked) Ive ordered the short chestnut ones :) By what Ive heard though, I might regret that... I should have ordered the chocolate ones. Oh well.

TBF though the pic makes the patch and back of the boot look worse than it does to the naked eye.

Having said that the stithcing on the label IS wonky but is straight on all the other 5 boots.

I'm not happy with the chestnut ones anyway - the stitching on the outer is pretty bad since it looks like the lining inside is trying to escape!

I am happy however with the black and chocolate ones so I spose if you're gonna order don't get sand or chestnut :o

Are you keeping the boots or sending them back?

Is that single stitching at the top and double stitching on the bottom I can see?

What UK size are you and what size have you ordered. Cant decide what size to order and I dont have a shop locally to go and try on. I am a UK size 4 or 5 depending on the sizing.
  • i am a uk7 but ordered a us8 uk 6 and they are snug although think they would stretch and give a little naturally anyway

ansi, I am a UK 5 so I ordered a US size 7. I think most people have ordered 2 sizes up (from UK to US) so if youre a 4-5, maybe you should get a 6-7? Dont take my word for it though, everyones feet are different

Oh.. and look at this everyone: http://www.asos.com/Sienna-Miller/Ugg/Ugg-Short-Boot/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=59681&clr=Chestnut&SearchQuery=ugg

On asos you can zoom in super close to the Uggs.. and it appears the stitching isnt brill on those either!

    Hi

I purchased a pair of Tall Chestnut Ugg Australia boots from you last week. They arrived very quickly - thanks!

I am a bit confused though. The boots don't seem to have the usual material label inside, instead they have a thin papery one. It also says "made in Australia" when I was under the impression that all genuine Ugg Australia boots were made in China?

When I have compared them with my short pair, bought in the UK and made in China, the label on the heel is slightly different too (lighter in colour and smaller). The heel on the boots you sent me has also been squashed slightly flat and the chestnut coloured binding around the heel stands too high and proud rather than being smooth and close to the base. To me they just don't look quite right and I was expecting them to be perfect from what you said about them on the site and for the amount of money I paid from them.

I have read your good feedback and I understand that others have had the "made in China" boots from you and I recognise that you are a reputable company, I am just disappointed with my purchase. I hope you can help me.

I look forward to your reply.

    and got this back:

Be assured they are the real UGG Australia boots!!

As we are down-under our Classic stock is made in Australia (aussies do not like made in China UGGs!).
Deckers (who produce UGG boots) make them in Australia, China and New Zeland.

As Chocolate is a new season colour they made to import from China (as are the new Fashion boots Crochet, upside etc.).

These boots are made by Deckers to the exact same specifications- just in different factories. So there are very minor differences (also between aussie and nz made).

Hope that clears things up and please be assured that these are the real deal!! If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.

    Thanks
    Tenaya

So they didn't really answer all my questions. I have written again asking if I can have a pair made in China. I will see what they say....

US 5 would be UK 3 though, surely they would be tiny? I dont know though, I suppose it depends on how wide your feet are and such. I think you can get Ugg size guides on the net if you do a google search.

hi, i also sent aussie direct an email to complain about my tall chestnut boots as they are very poor quality and not worth the money, but got back the exact same email you did, its obviously just their standard reply to everything, the only extra thing mine said was that i could return them for a refund but they dont refund shipping which is abit off as they sold them faulty in the first place, we didnt ask for them like that, not happy
