Sounds like they are all genuine, but just some are better quality than others, depending on where they are made. No one will notice these differences though, not unless they use a magnifying glass lol.
Im still waiting for my tracking no, but james said I would get it tomorrow. Im looking foward to getting mine and scrutinising them lol
Which boots have you ordered and what size? I am unsure what size to get.0 -
I just got of the phone to Tenaya who confirmed that although the Uggs are genuine there can be a visible difference in quality between the China and Australian made boots. She said it's only the sand ones which sometimes don't seem as well made though and the Black and Chestnut are fine.
Ugg Australia replied to my email finally and confirmed that some of their boots are still manufactured in Australia although the majority are made in China due to the 'phenomenal growth of their company over the last few years'
I'm more than happy with this explanation from both sides and have confirmed my order with AussieDirect.0 -
I see there was an email reply earlier that said the heel labels were variable in colour but has anyone specifically asked UGGS or AussieDirect about the difference in the inner labels i.e. cheaper printed label as opposed to better quality woven label?0
-
Huh, just got a differing reply from UGG Australia
Thank you for your inquiry. Aussie Direct is not a registered UGG Australia retailer, but they do sell some of our shoes. But, at the same time, they do sell other brands of sheepskin boots. Because of this, I cannot declare whether or not the boots you have received are authentic UGG Australia boots.
We do manufacture our boots in China since the product demand has outgrown all factories in Australia. The only boots made in New Zealand are the Ultra Collection.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email or at 888.432.8530.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Sounds like the people who work at Ugg Australia are all giving out different answers!
My views are that AussieDirect are a acknowledged seller of 'genuine' Uggs and we know that Uggs have been made in Australia in the past and depending who you speak to at Ugg Australia a small quantity still are.
To me coupled with the fact that the 'made in Australia' boots meet all of the other criteria (soles, labels, smell etc) says to me they are genuine.
I've read about 5 ebay guides all from supposed 'experts' all which contradict each other. Some say all Aussie/NZ made ones are fakes, other says the older stock was manufactured there, others say the newer stock is made there.
None of the Ebay guides can be taken as gospel as these people are only telling of their own opinions.
AussieDirect are selling the boots are the same price as all the other retailers in Australia/US so why would they need fakes? Ugg Boots retail at $120 over there anyway.
Just want my boots to arrive.0 -
It seems that different representatives of UGG Australia give slightly differing answers

The chocolate ones are about an inch higher but also are 2 sizes up.
I got a reply from UGG Aus and it wasn't very helpful:
'
Thank you for your email. In regards to your inquiry, we are unable to verify the authenticity of product that you purchased. Thank you for your interest in UGG Australia!'
The choc ones are original, or at least the same as the shops here sell.
The black ones are slightly different but look to be the same as these: http://www.hartings.co.nz/UGG_classic_tall_black.htm
It's just the chestnut ones look poor quality what with the stitching.
Here's some pics:
These are the chestnut ones from aussie direct from a previous post and they look poor quality to me. Look at that stitching on the back. I cant believe they are genuine.0 -
..... and so it goes on !!! If UGG Australia can't give out the same information then what hope is there of every knowing??
Surely, UGG Australia wouldn't allow Aussie Direct to send out boots as genuine with fake logos and labels if they are supplying them with genuine boots too. I think they're just covering themselves in case someone is refering to other brands that they have bought from the same supplier.
Has anyone asked their contacts (Hannah White, April Knapp, Merce'dez McCloud all from UGG/Deckers) if their boots only carry woven labels or whether some are manufactured in different factories/countries with printed labels?
I suspect those available in the UK are automatically supplied by China, whereas if you buy them in Australia they may be manufactured in an in-country factory with a slightly different spec for the 'home' market.
Anyway, I'm eagerly awaiting my UPS delivery today so I hope my daughter isn't disappointed!0 -

TBF though the pic makes the patch and back of the boot look worse than it does to the naked eye.
Having said that the stithcing on the label IS wonky but is straight on all the other 5 boots.
I'm not happy with the chestnut ones anyway - the stitching on the outer is pretty bad since it looks like the lining inside is trying to escape!
I am happy however with the black and chocolate ones so I spose if you're gonna order don't get sand or chestnut0 -
i do love the feel of my boots but don't like the tall ones i've got, or the quality of the sand but not sure what to do
do i send them back for refund walk away
ask for exchange for chocolate short?
ask for choclate sand short?
oh heck this is so tricky0
