I emailed aussie direct with this:

I am from the UK and would like to purchase a pair of the classic short UGG boots, but would just like to ask some questions before I do.

1. Are your UGG boots genuine Decker UGG Australia boots?

2. Where are your UGG boots made? As I understand it genuine Decker UGG boots are made in China. Am I right or wrong in thinking this?

3. Due to your offer will I definately not be charged tax or duty on my purchase.

They responded with this:

These are definitely genuine Decker UGG Australia boots. If you order the new season Chocolate colour they’re made in China . All our other boots are made in the factory in Australia but they are still real UGG Australia boots. They are Australian boots after all.
The only prices you pay are for the boots and the shipping, customs and taxes are not included.

I e-mailed www.hartings.co.nz with the same questions and received this:

1. Yes they are genuine UGG Australia Boots supplied by Deckers Inc.

2. Most of Deckers UGGs are made in China but some are made in Australia and a few in New Zealand. Our most recent stock delivery is made in China but we get Australian ones as well.

3. We mark our parcels as 'gift' with a low value so it is unlikely, though not totally impossible, you would be charged duty. If you were unlucky it would be approx. GBP18.00.

I e-mailed UGGS australia with this:

I am from the UK and am interested in purchasing a pair of the short classic chestnut UGG boots and have been online checking out websites.

There are two companys based in Australia who ship to the UK, and claim that they are selling genuine Decker UGG Australia boots, and I am wondering if the UGG Australia boots they are selling are genuine Decker UGG Australia boots.

They are www.australiadirect.com based in Melbourne Australia, and www.hartings.co.nz based in New Zealand.

Do Deckers supply these companies?

Also, is it correct that genuine Decker UGG Australia boots are only made in China or are they made elsewhere also? I have been told that genuine Decker UGG Australia boots say in the inside label that they are made in China, and a label stating made in Australia or New Zealand are fakes.

They responded with this:

Thank you for your email. In regards to your inquiry, I am unable to confirm that the two companies are selling genuine UGG boots. However, we have recently launched a UK version of our website at www.uggaustralia.com . In regards to manufacturing, our products are made in China, with limited quantities manufactured in New Zealand and Australia.

I'm past caring to be honest, too stressful to think about lol

... and after wearing mine for over 12 hours today, and my feet have felt oh so comfortable in all that time, I think I made the right decision in keeping them

It would seem that the boots are made in China, Australia and NZ.

Although by the sounds of things the boots that are made in China seem to be of a better quality.

Sounds like they are all genuine, but just some are better quality than others, depending on where they are made. No one will notice these differences though, not unless they use a magnifying glass lol.

Im still waiting for my tracking no, but james said I would get it tomorrow. Im looking foward to getting mine and scrutinising them lol
