I am going to wait for a response from taylor shoes, and see when the short chestnuts will be back in stock. If it is soon I think I will order from them.
  • okay so i went into sole trader today to look at their chestnut uggs (as they're the only colour from 3 I wasn't happy with).

they didn't have the classic tall but did have the short ones - the stitching was of the SAME quality on the outer boot - i.e. on the shorts sold here the lining can still be seen peeping out like on the ones from Aussie Direct.

I'd be !!!!ed if I paid full price here for the chestnut boots and had the lining appearing on the outer like that but they ARE the same.

So I guess I'm happy with the chestnut too.

For me, I'm happy they're UGG Australia boots so for almost half price a Billy Bargain :T

Thats good, Im glad youre happy now :)

I did have a sneaky feeling that all Uggs are like this, as the ASOS zoomed in image shows (in my previous posts) that you can see the lining through the stitches. I guess its how they are made.

Having read and read again today all of the info on these blasted boots, I am now of the opinion that the aussie direct ones are genuine but some are obviously not as good quality as the ones from china. I would not have paid £140.00 for the ones I received due to the poor stitching on the joins. Or maybe they are very very slight seconds as the quality control must be high to get them to sell for such a high amount (£170.00 for the tall ones here)
Anyway, my daughter is thrilled with them and no one can tell when they are on that they are not the £140.00 ones. I will be saving up though and buying them from my local store as they were to die for in terms of softness on the outside! and the inside and the stitching was 100%. The assistant must have thought me a total freak as I spent so much time examining them. She must have been waiting for the magnifying glass to come out.
I am still confused as to why the sizing was different as I tried a us6 on in the shop which was perfect but the us6 from aussie direct was too snug. there should not have been a difference if they were all made the same surely?
    Waddle you do eh?
  • Just taken delivery of a pair of tall chestnut boots and I think my daughter is going to be delighted. I agree with Mae and think we are looking too closely at them. Yes, I have the tacky printed label on the inside, but the label on the heel and soles look like the genuine ones in the 'how to spot a fake' guide. My soles don't seem to have a raised line but seem smooth to the pattern.

Based on the information we have from both UGG and Aussie Direct I would like to believe it is simply a different label because they have been produced by an Australian factory for the Australian market. As it is usually only those from China that appear in the shops here in the UK its not surprising there are slight variations like the internal label. I agree the woven one gives an air of quality but who's going to see it inside?

Incidentally, I am a UK6/Eur39 and I ordered a US7. Despite them being for my daughter UK5.5 I thought I'd try them on for fun and they fit me fine (so snug I may not want to take them off!). As she usually has to wear a UK6 anyway I hope they'll be OK on her too!

  • My Uggs have all arrived and I am VERY cnfident that they are all genuine (Chocolate and Chestnut). In fact, I personally think that the Chestnut are softer and feel the most comfortable!! Very happy - what a bargain!!!

    Hi all,

I am a long time lurker on these boards but I thought that I would break my silence to hopefully help some of you feel better.

Many of you seem worried about the internal label in your UGGs. After reading this I have checked my (very real, bought in UK) UGG australia boots and found that whilst the new ones have a material label, the label in my pink pair, bought in 2005 has the cheap feeling, nylon, printed, label that you are all describing.
This makes me wonder whether they were still producing all uggs in Australia and New Zealand back then, which is why our labels are the same. I am backing this theory as my label doesn't say "made in china" or "made in Australia" they obviously felt no need for distinction at the time.

So in conclusion Deckers UGG Australia brand do/did use the cheap nasty labels that you are seeing. I hope this helps.
