Anyone had a pair from Celtic Sheepskin? I really like the look of the Toscana and the Popper boots, but don't know if they are as good quality as uGg, Canterbury et al. Husband wants to buy me some for Xmas yaaaaaay! So need to move quickly...
Celtic Sheepskin have succinct explanation of the uGg story:
Ugg Boot History
"Ugg boot" was a term used in Australia for many years to describe the style of Sheepskin Boots worn by surfers to keep their feet warm after spending hours in the sea. These surfers, many of them travellers, brought the Ugg boot to Newquay in Cornwall in about 1973. Ever since, ugg boots later renamed to Celt Boots have been made in Newquay.
In Aug 1990 the business was bought by Nick Whitworth, who in 1991 registered the term UGG as a registered UK trademark in the international class 25 division of footwear - No 1,326,567.
For the next 6 years trading continued under the name of The Original Ugg Co and with ever increasing sales the popularity of Ugg spread around the UK, with a decision being made to concentrate on selling via mail order and of course via the web.
In 1994 Brian Smith from the USA company of Ugg Holdings contacted Nick and came over to Newquay to discuss the purchase of the rights to use the term Ugg. Negotiations slowed whilst Ugg Holdings were taken over by Deckers, but finally in 1996 an agreement was reached whereby Deckers licensed the use of Ugg with an option to purchase at a later date.
In the mean time Nick in Newquay changed the company name from The Original Ugg Co to The Celtic Sheepskin Co and changed the wording on the boot label from Ugg to Celt. Almost all of Celtic Sheepskin's huge range of Celt boots are made in Newquay from 100% real sheepskin.
The term ugg is now registered to the Deckers corporation.0 -
Does anyone know if Love From Australia are as comfy as Ugg Deckers. I like the design of these better as fell in love with diamonte on them but was only really going to buy Uggs in first place for comfort factor.
I've just bought a pair of Love from Australia boots half price from Faith £80 they usually retail @ £155. They're fabulous booties very comfy. I also own a pair of tall sand UGG Australia boots.I would say LFA's are just as good as UA's and half the price
I think we really do pay thro the nose in this country for UGG Australia boots. I couldn't justify £170 on a pair .
LFA the NEW UGG Australia boots :j

YAY :T :rotfl: :j
Finally got my Emu Stinger Lo's in today. Unwrapped the packaging like a child at Christmas and nearly died when I unwrapped them and noticed they were the sand colour....I had ordered the black
However after trying them on and having a walk around with them on I am in love, they really are like walking on clouds. They fit me to perfection and just look so fabulousI've been in touch with PB just to make them aware, its been such an ordeal with Christmas to get them but it means I'll just ask for the black ones for my birthday
hehe.
Anyhow I love a story with a happy ending, I'm going to call them Matilda I think...yup I'm a little crazy....I hope my little tale doesn't put people off using Puddlebeach as they are a great little company. Even though I didn't get the colour I asked for I'm still very happy and I also appreciate that the mailing system is a nightmare at this time of year.Wins so far - Revlon Lip Butter, Teapigs Matcha tea, Johnsons Face Care Gentle Exfoliating Wash:j0 -

Did you get charged customs duty? I also heard that you can ask Puddlebeach to mark the customs label as "gift" and they will do this.0 -

Can't somebody just start a new forum for Ugg boots given that most of the posts seem to be "chit chat"? Please?0 -
Hi All,
there's now 244 pages worth of discussion now.
would someone please make a recap of where you could buy genuine high quality Ugg boots from.
e.g where to buy the uGg Australia from, where to buy standard sheep skins ones.
i'm sure loads of us are trying to scan through all 244 pages just to make sure we're buying from the best site, it would be great if a experience buyer could give their advise on where to buy this Christmas.
thanks in advance, merry Christmas!
regards,
