ok. now i must i must i must i must i must have a choc pair. wheres the cheapest place to get real ones pref with no customs? i would use rei but for the  customs bill

If it's the chocolate ones you want, you could buy them from Australia Direct.

Got my short ones from there and they are fine. A friend of mine ordered the tall choc ones and they are fine too. They also pay customs & duty for you at the moment. I would also put a note on the order that you ONLY want the ones made in China end of.

It's just all other colours apart from chocolate that you shouldn't get from there.

Yes why not line the pockets of people who are quick enough to sell fakes as genuine. Their next line of chocolate stock might well be from the same sources as the other colours! I wouldnt recommended them end of!

I got my customs bill through for 2 pairs of kids boots it came out at £42.21 so i cant really moan they are still about £20 cheaper than kids boots on the high street, I checked the tariff heading on the bill and its classed them as 'other' rated at an expensive 20% so they are not under the category of kids boots, I have been looking it up and it seems kids boots made of FUR are not exempt, meaning sheepskin/wool is not exempt.

So wherever you buy them and whatever size they are you can be liable for customs classed as 'other' at 20% plus vat at 17.5% and whatever the companies admin charge is. If the package was marked at lower value the 20% would be far lower, ;) might be worth finding a good ebay seller for this. My friend got some from ebay they are the real deal so i will try and get the seller name, she got a pair of talls for £90.

Hope this helps people, a family member deals with customs a lot and told me how to check it before paying to see if i could lower the tariff it seems not as they are shhepskin.

There's no need for sarcasm. If you don't agree, why not politely say so? A lot of people on here are happy with their chocolate ones from AD, but I understand where you are coming from too.

All I did was share my experience and opinion.

Sorry it wasnt sarcasm aimed directly at you more at James if he still reads this thread, having been ripped off by them they dont deserve any more money from any of us.

Those of you who got the choccy ones were lucky but you never know when they might start sending dodgy chocolate ones too.

  • I bought a pair of short ones, from REI and i just received and email saying that they have posted 'em...

does anyone knows how long do they take to get here??

and something else, i bought them as a gift and even wrote a "gift message" does anyone had done the same thing and had to pay customs anyway?

im just wandering, i really want to get away with the tax thing hehe

I have decided to sell my chocolate ones... they are lovely, but way too big

if i do get to sell them for the money i paid im so getting the same ones though...
