  • hi, has anyone looked at justsheepskin.com? they have some lovely boots just like uggs but they are based in the U.K, £95 for a pair of tall boots(and free deliv.) they even have a label on the back with their name on so they won't look like market cheapys. I tried some on in Binns last week and they're georgeous, much better than the uggs i got from AD.They also do the ones with the laces on (on website) with a supertread sole but i think these are only available in store as they're not on website at mo, i'm torn now between these and the canterburys, canterburys are cheaper but justsheepskins are abit different if you get the laces ones (and can be bought instore, know exactly what you're getting before you pay) what to do, what to do????
  • I feel like a plonker. I thought the ones from snug australia were UGGs but they are there own made ugg boots. they do look well made and really comfy and fit nice. but they have the label to say snug austrlia UGG made in australia. I paid £85 and they are not the real macoy. its my own fault for not reading how they are made on the questions and answers.

I bought my baby a pair of the just sheepskin booties, they were of exact same quality and style as UGG australia, unfortunately due to the large sizing of uggs they wouldnt of fit her till shes walking though so i returned them and got the Ugg australia baby boo style with the walking sole (still massive but sooo cute i'm keeping them till she can fit in them). They have quick and flawless customer service, i'd recommend them if the label is not important. :D

One of my orders from REI arrived, really pleased will post pics later.
  • Hi to all

As a first time poster I must say what a fab and interesting forum this is! Have read all posts and found them so interesting and helpful. Like you Emmylou I have been pondering as to which style and colour Uggs to buy and more importantly, where from! Nearly ordered from AD but following the recent batch of bad postings, decided against it. So, have finally bit the bullet and ordered a pair of chestnut shorts from REI. As advised by Mookie I signed up for their newsletter and promptly received a 15% off voucher which I used against my order. The bill came to 161.99 USD with 18.01 USD saving and 60 USD air shipping. At today's exchange rates this equates to £79! Compared to a friend who bought some from Schuh for £140 I am very pleased! I will let you all know what they are like when they arrive! Thanks for all the info......

    Hi!

I did the exact same thing as you and was still slightly perplexed! However I think I have come to the decision to order off REI.com, as suggested by Mookie. I've e-mailed them and they're made in China, which seems to be the best place to get them made and come in the original box. They're cheaper than AD and although you have to pay shipping, they still come in cheaper I think. Plus when I signed up to their e-mail thing they sent me a 15% off voucher which should cover and tax and customs I may get charged for. They have a sizing chart on the website and I'm a size 5 so hoping I can get into the kids 6 cos apparently sheep skin will expand...that is true isn't it?!

It would seem a lot of people have been dropping a size when they've been ordering anyway. Hope that helps!:o

I'm trying that site but I can't find them

the kiwi-sheepskin site - are these the kids ones? also are they shipped from here?
Can I just ask why it is that UGG is so popular that people are willing to pay twice the price of other quality sheepskin boots purely for the sake of a small label? (and yes, I fell for the hype myself when I bought my black ones ;) )

Is it just because a "celebrity" was seen wearing them?????

I must admit I feel a complete fool now for rushing out and buying a pair, despite only paying half the price of UK boots, although at least I can take some solace from that.

I've got a short sand pair here from kiwi-sheepskin that only cost me £26 delivered and they are far better quality than my UGG's, and now, looking at the Hartings site, I see I can buy the tall chocolate Canterbury boots for £65 delivered!!!

Why oh why are we all paying the premium for UGG's when it appears they are actually an inferior product compared to others??? :wall:
