Hi everyone on this forum, I'm new on here but have been following this thread for a while now as I wanted a pair of reasonably priced genuine UGG boots. I was going to order them from Aussiedirect but after reading some of the comments I didn't feel too confident, so decided to do more reearch and ended up ordering them from Hartings.

    http://www.hartings.co.nz/

I posted earlier on in the thread that my Canterbury boots were far better quality than UGG or Kiwi sheepskins and when I clicked on the Hartings site I saw that they sell Canterbury boots and also provide an interesting bit of information ...
    http://www.hartings.co.nz/canterbury_footwear.asp

Canterbury have two brands, one cheaper than the actual Canterbury label and they manufacture boots for Deckers. So I'm taking a guess that they make cheaper boots for Deckers than for their own brand. And Deckers get to charge £100 extra for sticking their little label on the heel.
Following this thread has been better than watching a soap opera :rotfl:

look at the label on the hartings boots, see the colour of the stitching...

They are the same boots as being sold by Aussiedirect, the stitching on the logo is chestnut.

The stitching on the label on my Hartings chestnut boots is in dark brown, the logo is cream.

Hi, i,ve been following this thread for a couple of weeks and ordered some tall blacks from aussiedirect last monday, but apart from a confirmation email of my order i have not recieved any tracking no. How long did other people,s take?
Also hope they are the real deal after shelling out nearly £100 it seems i would have been better off getting the chocolate ones.

If they are made in china they will be. My china chestnut ones have brown stitching.

Having bought the aussiedirect ones and feeling like i got fakes i have been looking around and the hartings pic is definately a pic of the boots we got so they must of had them at some point, that comes as a bit of reassurance as hartings have been selling them for years.

Well I cant get any definate !!!!!! they are fakes, UGG Australia have said they do make them in Oz, but bloody ebay reviews make you paranoid.

Either way i've decided i'm not keeping the boots i'm sticking to the china version as I prefer them but I am considering doing my own ebay review to help others like us who feel like we got fakes.

Did you see the photo AD sent me of their carton? Then on hartings website all their pics are of the boots we got, on the main page they have the same white sticker on the sole too!

    This is their explanation

We own and operate a specialist sheepskin store in Auckland, New Zealand. The boots we are offering here were purchased on account from the official New Zealand distributors for Deckers Outdoor (owners of the UGG® Australia brand). They are genuine UGG® Australia boots.

Maybe Hartings had this problem with buyers in the past.

I've got an UGG headache :rotfl:

you do not get customs on every item, but if you do it takes about 2 weeks to come after the item was delivered, the courier company pays it then bills you with the charge plus their admin fee! my hubby got a charge on something from DHL, he was silly as he had it delivered to his work address he got stung as they thought it was a business item. It cost him £17 knocking the item up to what the uk price would of been.

I think this depends too. Parcelforce hold items until you pay the customs charges. I spoke to them before when I was expecting a delivery. They told me if it was out for delivery there were not going to be any further charges (not even a few weeks after).

Mine were delivered through Parcelforce, so I don't think I will have any charges to pay.
