Updated ebay guide. Half way down it says they are NOT made in Australia any more - confirmed by Deckers.

Like I said, could be old stock

But they have confirmed somewhere on this thread that some are still made in Australia. Also Martin said:

To confirm the authenticity I contacted the Deckers press office and they've confirmed that AussieDirect sell genuine boots, though by the sound of it they're not best pleased, "Aussie Direct is not one of our retailers, but they do sell UGG Australia boots. The common frustration from people who order from Aussie Direct is that they also sell non-authentic shoes and customers often times cannot tell the difference."

So you are exchanging? Are they definately sending you the china ones?

They arent gonna admit they are fakes or they might not even think they are.

I have specified that I want made in china ones and will not be happy if I don't get them!

Well the ones I ordered were the short chestnuts, and yes they did have the green triangle label on.

They seem/feel/look genuine to me, I think they are just old stock. You also have to bear in mind that they 'give' after a few wears, and they will appear to look wider/baggier. Maybe thats why they appear to be narrower than your older ones, because they are new?

I am happy with mine though :)

Oh.. and if I have time tomorrow, I will take some pics and post them, so you can draw your own comparisons
  • This is going round in circles now.

Deckers did confirm that some of their stock is still made in Australia although it depends who you speak to as different members of staff give different answers.

aussiedirect have said that all of their chocolate stock is 'made in china' and the rest is 'made is australia' so if you want Chestnut/Black/Sand they only have australian made stock.

I bought short Chestnut Uggs from aussiedirect and have no doubt they are genuine. The stitching is perfect and the label inside although plasticky is the same as in my friends baby pink ones bought from Harvey Nichols a couple of years ago. They also pass every 'authenticity' test.

If you look at boots in Office/KG the quality of the stitching on the 'made in china' ones can be very poor. You can get good and bad ones regardless of where they are made. I can post pics of my Chestnut boots (made in Australia) if that helps anyone.
  • Hi,

So is it safe to order from these guys? I've been reading these posts for a few weeks and finally made the decision to order tonight!! Then I read these bad posts and I don't know what to think.

I'd like the tall sand boots, has anyone ordered these? Are they genuine and of good quality?

    Im so confused now

I'm going on the actual boots i received, regardless of what others have received mine are dodgy its not like i havent owned them before as Rotherham lass said, as soon as they were out of the box you could tell!

I'm not telling anyone not to buy from there as some people seem to have got good ones but i'm personally not happy with mine. Others have agreed they dont look good either.
