Don't judge a book by it's cover...or in this case, do.

Here's a new game called 'Judgey', which challenges you to do exactly the opposite of the age-old phrase and judge a book by it's cover.
Once you've done this, you get to see the book's rating from GoodReads.com, and see if the old adage really is true.
It's difficult, but that's kind of the point. I found that my judgement was often way off compared to the GoodReads rating! What about you?

68% accuracy....pretty damn judgey apparently. The ones that looked good to me scored low by readers and the ones that looked boring to me scored high! I usually just stick to autobiographies and true stories.0

88%...!!!
I'm GOOD at this judging thing apparently

Surely it depends on what books you like reading?!xxx Nikki xxx0

78% accuracy.
And this comment:
Yep, because all the books you threw at me looked rubbish. You may know what you like,
but you sure as hell know what you don't
like. Which is a lot, apparently.
I wouldn't even have picked any of them up in a bookshop.
It might be just me - but I can't see the point in this at all.

72%
better than I expected
The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
92% accuracy for me! and this comment:
"You're like the scale of justice.
You're fair and balanced.
We're seriously impressed. This isn't easy.
But you make it look that way."
Of course, I was actually supposed to be working when I became diverted by this... so I may be good at rating books but not so hot on applying myself to the job in hand!

:rotfl:Absolutely nothing impresses me, apparently!“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0

What I've just learned is that apparently most books have really boring covers.0

If I judge based on what I like I score lower (56% first time, 60% next). If I judge based on the cover for the genre I do well (high 70s - high 80s percentage).
I often judge books on their covers for what I read. Certain books have caught my eye and they've been really good books. The good books in the genre I read tend to have similarities in their covers.0
