Horray! That was quick
you must have made them feel right at home.
So the story I watched was about dogs who are 'suspected' to be Pitt bull. I know yours isn't. But just seeing the sadness of the owners reminded me of your recent loss. Apparently the police have seized 3000 dogs in this country to be on the safe side. And have held some of them up to 3 years so far...
How sadSeems daft to vilify one breed when problems are largely the fault of irresponsible owners. Unfortunately the various bull terrier breeds seem to be in favour at the moment with said owners
A few years ago the dogs homes were full of lurchers who were difficult to rehome because they had been trained to chase and kill small animals, now it is the bull breeds who (around here anyway) seem to be a status symbol for certain types of people, often either kept in small flats with small children and inadequate exercise and training, or encouraged to fight with other dogsI have noticed fewer recently, but suspect this is because said owners have got fed up with them and abandoned them rather than anything the police have done, or have been told by landlords that they cannot keep them due to neighbour complaints
There is a worrying tendency too for people to get puppies, and then get rid of them as soon as they grow out of the 'cute' stage0
