CY - Hope you got a good nights sleep and feel better today *hugs*nicki try a retractable ID card holder. I use one for my work permit, fastened to my laptop bag. I always know where it is and it can't drop off. The sort that nurses use x
Thanks for this! I'll have a look and see what I can find for her to use as its an A6 pass annoyingly. If it was a credit card size it wouldn't be so bad and makes the "loosing it" even more unbelieveable :rotfl:
YL - I actually expected to find the pass in her bag so emptied that first :rotfl: She has a bank card, but I don't let her keep it as I expect she'd loose that. When she goes out I always put a £5 note hidden in a pocket in her bag with her little toiletries bag and she carries £5 change to school for these sorts of occasions. She had £5 on Monday and is down to about £1.50.
Todays plan is to munch a frog - I'm going to re-stain the front door, paint the surround paintwork and paint the numbers back on the wheelie bins. Its only needed doing for about 2 years at leastI was going to do it over the summer but DD was in and out with her friends and the dog so it wouldn't have had the chance to dry properly. First I need to pop up to the local DIY shop for some bits and I'll check my friends while I'm at it.
This evening DD is under orders to help me fly so I'll post a list then as I know where we're working.
:wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
*Healing vibes* for all poorly Flyladies including Jazee, with a double dose for Cycling Yorkie. I was wondering if you were okay. Missing Boddy's posts, too, so I hope she's okay.
Happy anniversary, FBO. It's amazing what a difference it makes, isn't it?More creamy than white as it is not bleached either so just like natural cotton or a clean sheep lol.
In all the years I was around sheep, I never came across a clean one. Let me know what breed they are and I might be tempted to get back into farming. Flying pigs and all that.
Kitchen given a drubbing yesterday, three loads of dog blankets run through the WM and pegged out, and booking dates checked for N who I thought was arriving this weekend; turns out it's not until next Wednesday. The RoD gets another reprieve and I can carry on trying to make cushion covers. They not going to be perfect, in fact they're going to be a bit cobbled together in a shambolic shabby chic kind of way, but they'll be an improvement on what was there before. It's taken me five years to get round to doing them because I knew they would be either very expensive or exactly as they're turning out. In other words, five years to get to grips with not being brilliant at something, but 'good enough' being ... good enough.Better is good enough.0 -

Ooh, that would be lovely, except I use a Kindle Fire and not sure if I can do photos with it?
Biscuit - I'd love a gardener too but no funds either :rotfl:
Ionafan - Wow, thank you! A really lovely offer x Let me get my house a bit straighter and I'll definitely be up for a visit....must do more flying...must do more flying...cyclingyorkie wrote: »Flylady waving from the sofa. Sorry for the absence of posts. I was rushed into hospital on Sunday with a very high temperature. It was very scary stuff - on Tuesday I spiked a temp of 39.9. They never identified what sort of bug it was, but eventually it was nuked by a powerful cocktail of antibiotics.
CY - how awful - glad to hear you're home. My friend's daughter went through something like this recently (she's just a dot at 4) and in the end they discovered it was ecoli. Really scary as her temperature went up to nearly 41 degrees! I thought that sort of temperature could be fatal
Just waiting for my online shop to arrive, so blitzing the lounge and sipping a fresh cuppa at the same time. Cold here today, but resisting lighting the fire, as I'm taking Small and Tiny to softplay after school today while DH collects skids on the train. Wish me luck lol0 -
Honey Bear - I might need your sewing skills - one of the puppies has just chewed the zip out of one of my BRAND NEW CUSHIONS!!! :mad:0

I've run out of steam. Not sure if it's post-holiday slump or the thought of going back to work;) either way, I'm laid on the bed with a cuppa and no intention of moving. Will be going to get DD in an hour.
Another parent was talking to the principal- I wandeed over and butted in, I guessed it was about getting two kiddies into opposite ends of the school (it was). Principal was quite keen that reception opening doesn't make older children late and she's going to speak to the staff - we said even just a couple of minutes early would remove a rushed dash around the grounds avoiding the older ones starting their day all flustered - and allowing the younger kiddies a few moments to be settled in without the parent and sibling dashing off before they can say byebye.
Really ought to frame myself but I've found this week quite tiring...Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Dizzy, zips are the only thing I know I can put in, with absolute confidence. I was amazed when I found out some people find them tricky. Pop the cushion in the post and I'll replace it for you if you still have my address.Better is good enough.0

Glad to hear that you're back home and recovering, CY. Nasty!
Happy anniversary to FBO and MrFBOLet me get my house a bit straighter and I'll definitely be up for a visit....must do more flying...must do more flying...
I assure you that - particularly when I am in gardening mode - I do not judge other people's houses beyond the point of thinking "Is it hygienic enough to sit down / drink a cuppa / use the loo here?" If you wait until your house is absolutely spotless, I'll never get to see your estate :rotfl:
Following the cancellation of today's meeting with my colleague, my DD apparently doesn't want me next week after all, so I have another couple of "free" days that I hadn't bargained forHopefully the weather will stay nice enough to do some more work in the garden, and maybe I'll finish off the last set of boxes
This morning I have done lots more editing and printing of files, and I think I am now ready to do the final laminating and packing of these three boxes that I have struggled with for so long. My computer has decided to behave itself today, after I threatened to take it back to the technician to get the fan replaced. On second thoughts, maybe the reason it's gone quiet is just that it's burnt out completely
Onwards and upwards.... will catch up later x0 -
My OH is a playwright, and Attfield Theatre have just put the most amazing video on their website for The Haunting, a play of his they're doing. He's never had this happen before, and it's absolutely brilliant. The fact that they're amateurs makes it double astonishing and welcome. Good on them. I'll delete this later, btw, obviously because it's not about actual flying.
Although, I have had a very productive morning dealing with a couple of things that have been outstanding for weeks, another load of dog blankets through the WM and pegged out, shopping list compiled, new pension sorted with someone who knows about these things and I trust, dog walked x 2 and two desserts planned for tomorrow night, the ingredients for which we already have. I need a quick rub down with the Radio Times.Better is good enough.0
