    I've been Money Tipped!
I liked saigon, but preferred Biere Le Rue. If you've not yet tried it, I recommend you do.

Bia Saigon, 450ml @ 4.3%, cheapest was in Saigon @ 4,000 dong [25p] a bottle. Here in Dalat 33p a bottle. Very nice too.

Biere Larue is brewed in Danang, which is where we flew to today from Dalat.
Sat on our hotel room balcony at the moment, and looking at neon sign advertising Biere Larue. So it's on the menu for tomorrow.

Explore! - they do some lovely small groups tours and the Vietnam/Cambodia ones look great :)

I went with them over Christmas / New Year 1995/6, as a solo trip to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, would recommend. At that time they contracted out the trip so there were local guides in Cambodia and Laos and an Australian tour leader in Vietnam.

I preferred Laos and Cambodia to Vietnam.
  • You could always fly out there and book some day trips with local companies to get a feel of the place and once you're more comfortable, branch out on your own. Vietnam is a very easy place to travel.

I recommend the XO food tour in HCMC to all my friends and noone has said a bad thing about it.
