Escorted tour for solo traveller in Asia?

Hello, I'm looking at travelling solo to Asia in the New Year, and would like to go with a tour company. Does anyone have any reccommendations of companies that are reliable and not too expensive? I realise that independent travel may be cheaper, but as a first time solo traveller I'd rather go with a tour.
Thanks for any advice :)

I've heard good recommendations for this company, and a couple of my colleagues have gone on to work for them.

    You could try:
    CTS Horizons
    Wendy Wu Tours
    Voyages Jules Verne
    Travelsphere
    Saga?

We did an escorted 27 day tour of China with CTS and couldn't fault them.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm currently thinking of Vietnam / Cambodia, for about two weeks. I've collected a few brochures and looked online, but was hoping for suggestions from anyone who has done something similar.

I will have a look at CTS, thanks Pollycat!

You'll only get a very basic look at Vietnam and Cambodia in 2 weeks, I spent a month in each and barely scratched the surface. I'd pick a tour that doesn't spend too much time travelling by road/rail between places otherwise you'll waste a lot of your limited time. Flights for the longest distances would be a good idea, especially if you want to do the north and the south.

I think contiki do them but they will be really expensive. I priced it up for Oz and are saving a lot more doing it myself. See if there are any companies that do just the bus as you'll meet people along the way but will save on all the gumph

Explore! - they do some lovely small groups tours and the Vietnam/Cambodia ones look great :)

I'm a regular solo traveller around SE Asia - it's a really easy part of the world to go solo as there are so many people doing the same thing that you are never alone. However, when I have bumped into people on organised tours, Intrepid always seem to be rated quite highly. They aren't the cheapest but are well organised.

However, I would always prefer to go solo. You get to do and see exactly what you want and don't risk being stuck with a group of people you don't get on with.

I second what doshwater said. 4 years ago me and a friend fell out within a month so I spent 2 weeks travelling alone but never really felt alone as many were doing the same route (bumped into some a few times in the end and hung out with one group for the day)
