Hello, I'm looking at travelling solo to Asia in the New Year, and would like to go with a tour company. Does anyone have any reccommendations of companies that are reliable and not too expensive? I realise that independent travel may be cheaper, but as a first time solo traveller I'd rather go with a tour.
Thanks for any advice

Sorry what I tried to say was I hope you find a suitable company.Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)0 -
I've heard good recommendations for this company, and a couple of my colleagues have gone on to work for them.

You could try:
CTS Horizons
Wendy Wu Tours
Voyages Jules Verne
Travelsphere
Saga?
We did an escorted 27 day tour of China with CTS and couldn't fault them.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I'm currently thinking of Vietnam / Cambodia, for about two weeks. I've collected a few brochures and looked online, but was hoping for suggestions from anyone who has done something similar.
I will have a look at CTS, thanks Pollycat!0 -
You'll only get a very basic look at Vietnam and Cambodia in 2 weeks, I spent a month in each and barely scratched the surface. I'd pick a tour that doesn't spend too much time travelling by road/rail between places otherwise you'll waste a lot of your limited time. Flights for the longest distances would be a good idea, especially if you want to do the north and the south.0

I think contiki do them but they will be really expensive. I priced it up for Oz and are saving a lot more doing it myself. See if there are any companies that do just the bus as you'll meet people along the way but will save on all the gumph:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Explore! - they do some lovely small groups tours and the Vietnam/Cambodia ones look great
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
I'm a regular solo traveller around SE Asia - it's a really easy part of the world to go solo as there are so many people doing the same thing that you are never alone. However, when I have bumped into people on organised tours, Intrepid always seem to be rated quite highly. They aren't the cheapest but are well organised.
However, I would always prefer to go solo. You get to do and see exactly what you want and don't risk being stuck with a group of people you don't get on with.0 -
I second what doshwater said. 4 years ago me and a friend fell out within a month so I spent 2 weeks travelling alone but never really felt alone as many were doing the same route (bumped into some a few times in the end and hung out with one group for the day):T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one
