Well been to the lymphoedema clinic today and whilst I have edema in my leg I do NOT have lymphoedema :j:j:j - this means that the ulcerated insect bite is the problem so that SHOULD be a quick fix - the problem is they cannot but compression on the leg until they have checked everything out and that involved blood pressure tests on my arm and both legs - BUT because of the chronic pain they couldn't do the test on my right leg which means I need to go for a special scan
so that is another 4 to 8 weeks (hopefully no longer!) Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I meant to say as well that they dressed the wound with medical manuka honey and it doesn't hurt! (although the Furry Dragon (tm) is interested and keeps sniffing - it could be 'cos he likes honey on his kibble :rotfl:)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Two quick bits of news :-
I have a cleaner starting tomorrow! Okay this could push my debt free date back a bit but I will feel better about the house, which means I will feel better about me (might lose some weight!), and if I feel better about me I might not want to go to the pub to meet people so could be saving money in any case
I had the dressing changed this morning and the ulcer is half the depth and smaller width wise! So it looks as though the honey is working :j, even the nurse said I might NOT need the arterial test doing - if the ulcer clears up, the the oedema could clear up and I will be a seriously happy Dragon :rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Brill news :j:D
I think in your circumstances a cleaner is just what the doctor ordered- they should all come free on the NHS if you ask me..lol:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
