The cleaner is great :j - it will take MONTHS for it to get the way I want it but then again I haven't managed to do anything really since we moved in
, hopefully after about a month she will be down to once a fortnight as the worst of it will be dealt with and it is then the gradual deep clean (general tickle down and half an hour concentrating on shelves or something)
Seeing the nurse again this afternoon - so hopefully the honey has worked more magic! Just a bit annoyed as I now have to pay for the dressings (the new dressings the tissue people want to use are not standard issue shall we say) so debt free date has been busted as I just paid £104 for a years prescription on my credit card , I'm on Incapacity and DLA and still have to pay prescription charges :mad::mad:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Prescriptions are expensive aren't they?
Scotland and Wales get them free so why can't we?
Glad the cleaner is working out ok.0 -
prescriptions are so unfair, my dad for years had to buy the prepaid one and he was on heart medication (after 10 heart attacks), blood pressure meds (to get it above zero) and pain meds from where he broke his back - it's just not right somehow how they decide who does and doesn't get free prescriptions.0

Thats crazy that you still have to pay prescription charges in your situation! Glad to hear the manuka honey is working tho - the medical stuff sounds different, I suppose best not to put shop stuff on things.
A cleaner - ooh, I'd love to have a cleaner. They should come free with all house deeds. Mind you, I've decluttered so much, its getting easier to clean this place2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Actually in Scotland you do pay for prescriptions.
Think at some point they will be free but not at the mo.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Thanks Karmacat - in two weeks the wound has almost healed - that's after 3 months of other treatments that seemed to make it worse
I have to pay prescription charges because Incapacity Benefit and DLA are not means tested - so yes it is crazy, the people who probably need the most help with medical bills still have to pay

I think they are cheaper than England though and are supposed to be phased out totally in a year or so (as happened in Wales) - £7.20 per item we pay in England!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I am so glad to hear that your leg is loads better..what a relief.
Prescription costs get my back up too.Was going to buy on of those yearly pre paid but am not on any regular medication but I should have done because I have spent loads on prescriptions in the last 12 months...0 -
Murfle - not a happy Dragon here! Had to let the cleaner go, had a migraine most of last week (which cleared up in time for the weekend :j)
Had a fantastic weekend (Chinese meal on Saturday night - not a takeaway either but a proper restaurant one! and Sunday lunch down the local pub - where I was bought lots of drinkies 'cos of it being my birthday ), did too much and am now in screaming agony and trying to play MSE catch up!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
