thanks bob, i'm not good at badgering doctors after being treated like a second class citizen cos of my weight. the diabetic nurse who gave me my results last friday was quite harsh/ mean really. ok i'm over weight but we do have a history of it in our family which wouldn't have helped and just cos i'm fat doesn't mean i'm stupid. I'm hoping the dietician (when i get an appointment) will help. my surgery doesn't do things like slimming club memberships or gym memberships, others do around here but not the one in my town. at the moment i dont' get anything free cos i'm diet controlled but if they do end up putting me on tablets i'll get free prescriptions.

I remember having this conversation with a doctor - who was stating that all my problems stem from the fact that I am 10 stone plus overweight - I just glared and asked them to look at my medical history in particular the road smash that nearly killed me and then the fact I was put on steroids! Before that they had been complaining that I was a stone UNDERweight - so let me think ...... the medication you bar stewards put me on made me pile on 15 stinking stone and it's MY fault now?!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: oh they shut up then :D

Sorry to hear that you have swine flu Dragon..hope that you start to feel better soon.have they given you Tamiflu?
Lemon tree sorry to hear about the diabetes and how awful for the Drs/Nurses not explaining anything to you and leaving you so worried. You will be able to have children ...they will keep a better eye on you.I've also heard that diet can cure it as well.I'm sure you'll feel loads better when they explain things to you.

Getting there slowly but surely, I have 4 Tamiflu left to take and I think they are starting to help - but I have been warned I will be run down for a fair while yet!

thank you all so much for your kind words they are much appreciated. I was back to the drs today with an infected insect bite (which strangely healed 2 weeks ago) but which is now due to diabetes and my weight. Saw a different doctor and almost walked out in tears, had a strip torn off me because i'm still overweight. I get the feeling that she thinks that i've had a week to sort it out and get the weight off and what's my excuse? was told i should basically expect to feel hungry until i've lost all my weight, i should go for a half hour walk (5miles her words) every day in my lunch break and demanded to know why i couldn't walk to work (25miles each way is why). OH says i should complain but i don't know if i'm just being over sensitive.
