  • Had this discussion the other night. We have just redecorated our dining room, including new flooring, skirting boards, door frames etc. This has resulted in us removing the French doors (what do the French call them I wonder!) between the dining room and lounge. This means we now have one large through room 35 feet long and 18 feet wide. The lounge is generally warmer being south facing and the dining room cooler being north facing. We are now saving for new French doors, costing about £500. How long will we hold out before the heating goes on?!?! Or, will the credit card come out for the doors?!?!

I said no way is the heating coming on in August!

Thank God for global warming, otherwise **** knows how cold it would be. Could global warming just be a phenomenon invented by Governments to squeeze extra tax out of us?!?!

Heating not on yet, no where near it. Even though its wet here its not cold as yet. When the clocks go back in October is normally my target.
    Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j

Heatings off until 1st Nov. I usually get away with it in Bristol, as you go north I should think it would get earlier.

  • I was sooo tempted yesterday as it was freezing last night - was slightly horrified at the prospect though - heating in August who'd have thought!

My mum came round today and she feels the cold badly so put the electric fire on for a few hours. Not happy as wanted to hold off for another 2 months!
