    Good morning tammy66,

All of our call centres are in the UK. Is there anything I can help you with?

I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

Go to trust pilot web site type eon in search bar and read the first review which appears, dated 23 August 2015
I was thinking about joining Eon via the big switch but now after reading the revues on trust pilot I am now thinking very hard about moving

    Hi tammy66,

We have actually been replying on there for a while, but have recently lost our access, so we've been having problems.

I do agree though, lot's of review sites do show negative experiences as a lot of happy customers just don't post anywhere at all. They maybe don't think about it as nothing has happened or gone wrong.

There's lot's of info on here and our website and of course you've seen the new MSE collective switch, so have a think.

But I'm here to help you if you need me.

    I wouldn't trust Trust Pilot ;)

If you live by what's written on there you wouldn't buy anything from anyone.

e.g. I looked at Tesco, Asda & Lidl

Edit: Looks like I'm not alone based on a reply at 9.30am this morning on the thread you posted something similar about yesterday.

    Helena :)

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on this thread. :p (Saves me making a new one with the same name!!)

I'm currently on British Gas Standard tariff (was too scared to leave after our fix ended based on the question below)and was considering swapping to EON via the big switch.

With British Gas we pay monthly via direct debit...an adjustable direct debit if that makes sense? So it's not the average across the 12 months it is the exact amount we have used over the last month. :D
We give monthly readings via the app 2 days before the end of the month, the bill is totaled up around the 5th and payment is taken around the 15th of the next month.

We like this as we find it reminds us to keep our energy use in check over Winter as we slowly see it creep up as Summer ends. It also means we have more spare money over Summer to go out and do things (due to no heating on etc). Also in theory we can't receive any surprise requests for payment when we leave as we are constantly up to date (and if we did it would only be a few days worth rather than months worth).

Is this payment method available with EON? And if so how to I set that up if I've joined via the switch? :o

Also we were petrified in case things mess up in the switch and both companies end up charging us for a few months.
As we are currently saving for/paying off our upcoming wedding we simply can't afford this to happen :( which is why BG has managed to keep us in their cold, dead, expensive death grip :D:o

    Morning Coedy,

    No problem,

I think it sounds like you have a variable Direct Debit set up currently.

first of all, if you'd like to switch you're doing the right thing by having a look around and MSE is a great place to do this, try and use your usage in kWh when doing comparisons.

If you do decide to switch to us via the collective switch, you can apply through the cheap energy club and the supply will be taken over by us. We'll open your account to meter reads we ask you to provide, we'll then send these same reads to old supplier to produce your final bill, so no overlapping.

We have many different ways to pay.

With E.ON you can have an online account, pop your reads in each month and produce a real time bill, so you can see exact usage and how much you owe, you can then make a payment.

If you set up a Variable Direct Debit, we'd collect the amount owing from your bank account each time you produce a bill.

I hope this helps a little.

    Helena :)

I have been a customer of Eon for many years and can honestly say that their customer services have been amongst the very best I have ever encountered.

Compared with the likes of BT and TalkTalk, the staff really stand out as an example of what good customer services should be like.

I always remember that in years gone by, you could contact Eon with a freephone number whilst other energy companies were using premium rate 0845 or 0870 numbers.

Whenever I have had dealings with their call center (centre) staff, they have been polite and knowledgeable.

I have no connection with the company other than being a satisfied customer.
