Hi. Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, so please move/ remove if needed (I'm certainly not looking for a debate/ argument/ trolling/ flaming based around the current refugee crisis), but I saw this on Twitter. I thought it was a lovely idea for those who were moved to help, but because of their own financial circumstances felt they couldn't (and I also appreciate many people use their points out of necessity rather than for treats).

We've decided in our group of friends to spend all of our Tesco Clubcard, Nectar card & Boots Advantage points to buy items for the refugees

Many of our friends want to financially help but can't afford to. Hopefully even this small amount will help some one.Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE

Hi all,
A quick dive in. I hope everyone is ok. I will be awol again for a couple of weeks but I just wanted to let you know that OH's nan is improving steadily. She's off dialysis and is being weaned of the ventilator. She's started talking again and from what she was saying, it sounds like she's back to normal (worrying about everyone else's comfort despite being inside a ventilator bubble and full of tubes/needles/drips/holes/stitches)
Scouse nans eh? Indestructible!

ShirePiskie, there is also the Greater Good Charity Site (Link) which I've been using for years. You go to the American site each day and just click on a Click Here It's Free. A wealthy donor then gives a penny, or whatever, on your behalf. On the same site are links to donate to a cancer charity, an animal charity and some others. No registration required, just visit and make one click. They've donated over $33million since 1999.

Freebie:
* 100 free Nectar Points. Login to the Nectar website. (Link) Click on My Nectar and you might be offered a link to tell Sainsbury's Bank when your insurance policies are due for renewal. Completing a short form will get you £1 off Nectar Points. Probably results in you receiving marketing material!

Morning all

* Bob, your talking about heating reminded me, baby took a swipe at the heating controller here yesterday and managed to turn it on, so I must find the instructions and switch it off again  It only came on in the bathroom and airing cupboard, but still!

Yes indeed Dawn, she needs to learn the ways of the DFW ninjas early :rotfl:none of this heating luxury (pop her in a snow suit at all times, she'll be fine)

Decided to leave my Mount Everest of ironing until tomorrow morning so as to be able to do it all in one session (some of today's laundry still out drying on the line), so instead, I tackled the stair basket, including all the financial bits of admin which needed dealing with and/or filing. Updated September's budget to take account of a few odd little spends. Managed to sort out the grocery budget which took a hit when mr f got a touch of 'BBQ Night red mist' at the meat counter over the BH weekend.. The final 3 shops of this month will be £44. I've done it on less & we have tons of food in the freezer.
Quite a few more Onepoll surveys appeared this afternoon, including one for £1 instead of the more usual 10p, so I did those & my total is now up to £35-25. Not long to go now, till that £40 is making its way over to the Car Fund.
Time to fetch the washing in now....if not bowled over by cat telling me it's Tummy Time.
Bob - People sometimes fail to think before they make personal comments...or just don't care! My Nan once said to me, "I see you haven't lost any weight", to which I replied, "And I see you haven't learned any manners". She wasn't very happy about that, but if you can't take it, you shouldn't give it out, should you?!
Cheers all,

2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0
