yes some companies do retain it , and you log on to there website with a password , however a NEW company cannot do this
I asked the person who stated that money had been taken from their card to name the company that took the money0 -
It doesn't matter if it is Justeat, Natwest bank or any other place, if I get an email asking for bank details I just dump it.
Who wouldn't?
Why was this thread even created?0 -

Amazon doesn't retain it, they don't even ask for it in the first place.
It's not a requirement to process a card transaction.0 -
we have yet to hear WHICH company took money from the card?
maybe then we can see if there is any link (known) between the "just eat" scam email and fraudulent transactions0 -

Err it is possible to buy things without the CVT code.
Which? did some tests and they were able to purchase a £2,000 Lcd without it.The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -

I have no idea which company took the money. The transaction was PAYPALVOIP, but as the bank said, anyone can call a transaction anything they want. Paypal were in no way involved btw.
Yes there is a very clear link between Just Eat and the scam email, they have all the exact details of the Just Eat account, full name, address exactly as it is on JE, telephone number, long card number, JE account number. Which is what makes this scam so convincing. It's because the email contains all the correct information in the first place that makes the scam believable.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Have you virus scanned your pc? It's more likely you've got a key logger virus than just eat has been hacked to obtain these details.
just eat don't store card numbers on their site, instead they are stored by a third party payment service. Just eat only store the payment token on their system which is usually the 16 digit card number with the middle eight numbers being XXXX XXXX.
It is almost impossible for a hacker to get the card details from just eat. The rest of the details they could potentially get but the card number would worry me. That suggests you've a potential virus on your system which is tracking what you are keying in.0 -
No viruses, no key loggers, tablet clean. No other fraud, just this one.
They got this info from somewhere, it wasn't from an infected tablet in this house.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

PAYPALVOIP is not the name of the company , VOIP is a provider of paypal services, did you check if this was for something you bought via ebay etc?0
