Maybe they've bought access to the electoral register?

I've just googled the company name in the email address and they distribute and provide technical services to the biomedical industry.

I wonder if this is what happened to a company a while back, they got hacked and emails were sent randomly asking for bank details as the company had supposedly received an invoice payable.

    I smell a scam.

It's a scam. My stooopid husband fell for it, he had money taken, luckily not too much.

The disturbing thing is that all his info, name, address, customer No., card details, were exactly as on the Just Eat website. Loads of people have been saying the same on their facebook site but they refuse to accept they may have been hacked. We won't be using them ever again.

  • was the money taken out as a direct debit , using his bank details or from his card?

if the latter how did they get the number from the reverse of the card?

Card. Exactly, from Just Eat I'm guessing.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

The scammer made a card transaction, all the details were from our Just Eat account.

  • unless you entered the CVT code in the reply to them , they would not have known it , and a transaction would not have been possible , what name was on the card transaction?

You can process a card payment without a CVV number, Amazon do it all the time.

Not asking for a CVV number significantly increases your risk when it comes to fraudulent card use. Probably not a major concern for a fraudster.
