Its well documented that the Wi-Fi range on the superhub is pretty awful.
You mean Virgin's public access system will not work ? My mobile picks up my neighbours wi-fi signal, says "strength good"You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
I have the Superhub 2 (dual band) and am looking forward to this development. In cabled areas this means I can have a useful backup to my existing service and it can only be used by VM cutomers - excellent. I used to run the FON service also, and it was never abused, due to the bandwidth lockdown. This looks the same, so I'll have no qualms about permitting access and using it werever I can.0

My broadband hasn't worked since the so called changeover. The internet was supposed that be down for 2 hours on Tuesday...0

I'm looking forward to it so I can use my sister's ID to access Virgin broadband whilst I'm out and about, just like she does with mine with BT Openzone.
My experience with the BT system is that you never have any inkling when or if someone is hooked up to your hub."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Any further info on how this will work
Assuming that my wi.fi signal extends outside my property will people be standing outside my house using my internet ? Is that what is meant to happen?
Then when they have finished a call...or whatsapp session they more on to a property down the road ?
Don't really see the point of this ?0 -
I don't see any problem with this really...
BT have had hotspots for a while now and I don't see gangs of people hanging around houses using hotspots.
I don't go looking for them but if I am parked up somewhere and my phone automatically connects to a BT hotspot then great, it saves my mobile data.0 -

Wonder what energy they will radiate at ?
It'll be rubbish, they'll be sitting on your garden wall or standing in your garden to use the 1Mb speed.
Seriously, just opt out from the VM control panel.0 -
Opted out straight after first email from VM. After the service started my SuperHub traffic light is blinking like crazy even with all wifi devices disconnected and TiVo switched off. Also network Virgin Media is droping signal strength down to 10% when my Hub is unplugged and comes back to 100% after is plugged back in. I think opt out option is a massive scam.... and I think they still using my hub for their network.0

I didn't think it had started yet?0
