Yes i am sure you are right undreds are going to be arriving .
But if you go down the Faraday route then what's to stop them all parked in this lay-by from connecting ??
Plus if you actually use the cage you will find that the radion waves bounce around the house leading to softening of the brain through over exposure .
Probably better to put up large lead sheets between you and the lay-by .0 -
I'd imagine there are hundreds of lay-bys in cities all over the country that have BT Wifi hotspots. I can't imagine it has increased the number of people pulling over to use the internet. Who doesn't have mobile data on their phone these days anyway? So on that basis any lay-by is fair game, hotspot or not.
I agree, and besides using a mobile device in a vehicle may attract penalty points, I fear the OP is worrying over nothing, as the BT system has been going for years without any drama, even walking along the road, you soon walk out of wifi zone.0 -

How? If they're driving past they won't be in need of wifi so will have no idea there's a hotspot there.
And why would they need to use your wifi to make calls when they can use their phone anywhere they like without a hotspot?
Totally paranoid reaction.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Why is the lay by there in the 1st place?
Isn't it for people to stop at for whatever reason, long before wi fi? I doubt the stop by will increase after all the user would also have to be a VM BB subscriber.
It's there because it is a bus stop. but that does not mean cars don't use it , usually leave having flung their takeaway wrapping out the window. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -

Bad area for phone signal reception, and I'm not going to improve it ,
Web search proves faraday cage is right way to go.You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
I'm hoping your neighbours don't have virgin too. If they do, opting out won't stop the lay-by gathers using theirs instead0

Doesn't sound like the type that would have VM, after all it's not cheap.0 -
Yes, my BT hubs a hot spot too. I could turn it off but its not a problem.
I can see 4 BT homehubs but between them they generate 10 APs across the bandThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
