i was wondering incase of a power cut, would old jam jars etc with a string tie handle be safe with tea light candles in to use like little lanterns. xOne day I will live in a cabin in the woods0
-
wouldn't the string (and your hand) be directly above the flame?0
-
yes good point, what about without string , just as a candle holder. One day I will live in a cabin in the woods0

Just use the jam jars.I glass painted some last year nothing fancy(I'm no artist) just some swirly patterns but they now give off a lovely glow and look ever so warm and pretty. The glass paint was'nt expensive to buy either.0

I need to get some curtain lining material and line the curtain on my patio door. (it's huge)!!
My MIL has just given me her sewing machine as she doesn't use it but I am a complete novice so it should be fun :)Do more of what makes you happy:)0 -
Annie123 the Sad lightbulbs are great. They have completely transformed my house which is dark most of the year round due to massive trees in front and back garden.
They do give the illusion of white sunlight and not the opressive glow of yellow as with the ordinary low energy bulbs. I love them and think they are well worth the money.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

larmy16 are the sad lightbulbs expensive to buy and where do you get them from as I've never come across them. Also can you get them in candle bulbs or just the normal bulbs.0

right all
i seriously need to get my butt in gear.
This week my little boy starts school - not entirely sure if im happy or sad abotu the prospect yet (happy as i have peace or sad because hes not a little boy anymore)
either way i need to occupy myself - and i get paid tuesday/wednesday so i will be looking to do somethings in the house. So here is my list.
tuesday- buy window glaze to do bens room, our room, front door and possibly bathroom/toilet
- buy bathroom/toilet mats as the floors tiled and bloody freezing in winter!
- paint toilet (bf decided that putting motorbike newspaper articles would look good - but loked rubbish after he'd PVA glued it) thinking one thick coat of white pain should cover remaining few bits as sanding and stripping doesnt seem top be helping it much.
- oh is off for that first day of school moment so will ask him to put up coat rack in hallway.
- line bens curtains with fleece blankets (although will safety pin them instead of sew making them reusable!)
- line our curtains with blankets
- old duvet under bens bottom sheet
- offot dreams with mother in law to see if they have cheap bunkbeds - ben is still in a cot bed at 4 years old underneath a top bunk so is horirbly mismatched - ben needs to be in a full size bed so new beds it is and freecycle never seems to have any!
Time to find me again0
