Bed socks - that's the answer for us taller mortals....warm and fluffy ones! Now I know I'm getting old - I'd never have considered them in days past, but now I'd rather be warm!

I am presently sitting here with a pair of Dennis The Menace Toasties on :rotfl:

Does anyone else find the Primark pjs act like velcro when you turn over in bed, or is it my bedding??? Effectively beached once or twice in the night.

    p.s. Isn't my OH lucky.
  • Just a note about bedsocks - you don't have to buy special fluffy socks if you can't afford them. I got a pack of three pairs of womens hiking socks - really chunky - on Skipton Market for the same price as one pair of bed socks. My feet are toasty, which is unusual for me.

I imagine this would be quite easy to make for any halfway DIY-minded person (unfortunately not me then).

under heading "cheap and easy supplemental heating"

it would seem it turns out the equivalent amount of heat to having a fire on.

I'm now ready for any power cuts. I have a supply of canned food to heat up on my little stove and instant mash. Candles and torches are at the ready. ;)

I always wear PJ's but have a rotten time finding any long enough..I have a 32" inside leg and most are like pedal pushers on me..no good for keeping warm!!:(

I have the opposite problem as I'm only 4'11" and all the PJ's have really long legs:rolleyes: But I can remember a time when the only thing I wore in bed was a smile:D .Ahhh the joys of youth

One electric blanket having "bitten the dust" much earlier than I anticipated......and using the O.S. idea of a summer duvet under bottom sheet and giving a quick blast with hairdryer. Nice and toasty.
