Hi does anyone know if primark manchester has any slankets/couch cosies? thanks

I'm not from that area, but why don't you phone the Primark you want to go to (in case there's more than one in Manchester) and ask them if they've got any? I paid £6.85 (I think) for mine and they're great. Good Luck.
  • Huddersfield didn't have any last weekend :(

Coventry had about 4 of the mink coloured ones but they are expecting more in so I was told.
  • Kingshir, re coffee wine. We have made some for the first time this year and have to say I am pretty impressed with it. I think it is similar to Tia M although not as strong.
  • I have at long last managed to put up my fleece curtains on the 2 sitting room windows - cost me just over £7 for the fleeces from IKEA and had to sew them together but what a difference! Although the windows are double glazed we still get a lot of cold from the glass and the fleece cuts that all out (put my hand behind them and its freezing!) I got white ones as my curtains are cream and as I pull them back behind the curtains during the day you cant really notice them. As soon as it starts getting dark I pull the fleece ones over and then the lined curtains and its really toasty.

    Well pleased!

I used fleeces to line the curtains on my big (double glazed) patio doors, but it didn't make as much difference as I hoped.

What made a bigger difference was making a curtain/blind for the small single glazed window over the radiator (duh). I used two layers of leftover curtain fabric, interlined it with a cut-up Asda fleece, and hung it from the net curtain wire/hooks that I took down when I moved in, but still had in the toolbox in the garage. Oh, and I made draught excluders for the front and patio doors while I had the machine out. The front door one is fillled with a rolled-up frilly pink shower curtain, also left behind by the previous owner. It's excellent for the job, because it's heavy and it settles...this is not doing my hoarding compulsion any good at all...

Would like to say thanks to everyone who shares their ideas etc. Have picked up a few tips and feel ready for winter now. my grandsons love my wind up torch (must get a couple more) and so do I. Last year we had quite a few power cuts and I kept picking up torches where the batteries had run out. In the power cuts felt really good about having store of tinned food but then realised I only have an electric tin-opener (I have arthritis in hands) - must think about that one this year!
