Preparing for Winter

last year got a wind up lantern from Morrisons.0

Just bought three brollies from the Factory Shop and a pair of leather gloves from the charity shop - only £4.
What I really need is for the garage to be fixed so that it is waterproof. I can then put all my foraged wood in there and keep it dry. An estimate is on the way.
However, our gutters have been fixed, which is helpful.0 -
Have just been on the phone to Mum and I read her bits off here as she is really interested and for 78 she ain't a bad old bird. She is off to Primarni tomorrow for the throws and as you can almost see Lidl ( or Lidl tiddle Diddle as we call it - she is a bit forgetful) from her house she is going to stock up on hoggies for us all. She has the best insulated and heated flat there is so I don't worry about her freezing in winter thank goodness.Clearing the junk to travel light

ETA Does anyone know where to get a wind up torch and radio combo?
Hi, Tesco sell them too. It's in their value range and costs £7.00. I got one and it works brilliantly.0 -

If I remember right, it was either Savers or Semi-Chem and they were £1.49 or maybe at the very most £1.99 - but definitely under £2.00! I certainly wouldn't pay more for than that - I'm my mother's daughter (as the saying goes)!
These hotties are also ribbed on one side and plain on the other - if thats any more help?;)0 -

I'm still having to kick the duvet off most of the night as our bedroom remains at 26 degrees even with the windows open.
I did have to close the back door, which opens into the living room, though today as it was getting a little chilly when the rain set in.
Definitely no need for heating yet.
Reading this thread has made me realise how cosy this house is.Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20
