We certainly won't last till November,we live in Mid Wales.

Whereabouts are you? I live in a village on the Machynlleth side of Aberystwyth.

We normally last until the end of October without the heating on, then it goes off again in March (as long as we don't get snow!). I don't know if it's old age setting in though but I'm feeling a chill already and it's not quite September!

I'm the same, I took the toy that I am knitting for my eldest for Christmas away on holiday with me last week, plus a couple of cross stitch Christmas cards.

This may sound a silly question, BUT can I just ask if you have an 'Envirovent' in your home? We have them in all our houses here and sometimes they've been set (by the builders) to 'blow cool air'. Some of my tenants were complaining about draughts last year and we tracked them ALL down to the Envirovents being set incorrectly (and control switches being in the lofts !).

    http://www.envirovent.com/products/domestic/positive_input/loft_mounted/loft_mounted.html

the house had warm air heating but the control box (the size of a large filing cabinet ) was in the dining bit. This got removed so no chance it is set too blow cold air. I've also checked the vent in my son's room and no draught there either........

You're welcome. I've always got a sock or two on the go...I spend a LOT of time hanging around places waiting for kids to come out of school, swimming club, rugby...all these ten minutes here and there add up to a lot of knitting time! And it keeps your fingers out the chocolate box when watching the telly.

And I always take knitting on holiday. All that hanging around while travelling, and when Hubby is driving! We camp mostly, so I knit in the evenings while sitting outside the tent with a cuppa. (I don't drink...boring, eh?)

  • Well DH got the gutters cleared and the gutter guard fixed plus he made sure that all the down pipes were glued and fixed (I hate plastic guttering!).
All that is left to do on the outside of the house is for the soffit to be painted and the garden has to be dug over ready for winter.(Good job he loves me:eek:)
Put front Door curtain up that I made. And am going out to buy some more bubble wrap and velcro tomoz.
Blankets and flannelettes all washed, dried and aired.
One draught excluder left to make and I have started knitting myself some woolies ( I have finished DH's and kids woolies already)
Pulled out the winter coats, hats and gloves and will be making loads of meals to freeze next week (Yeah DD back to college, DS back to school and DH back to work PEACE!)

    Hi all

    .

Is it me or has Primark gone up in price for some things? The pyjamas I bought today were a whole £1 more than the last time I bought some (about 2/3 years ago) :rotfl:

I dont shop there as a rule but mine last year were £3 to £4 a pair..
