    Hello!

Another thing to tick of the list today, bought some chenille lined curtains for the spare room ready to put up when I put the seconday glazing back in place. Had to stop myself buying some of the throws and quilts they had for about £15 under half price in A*gos

I removed the secondary glazing by accident when I moved in and then never thought about putting it back in place until I read this thread.

    Spare room plan
Remove tatty old dusty dirty curtain
    Clean window
    Clean secondary glazing pane
    Replace glazing
    Put up new curtains
Draw curtains at night when it gets colder instead of none :D

Might go back to Mr T's for one of the nice patterned fleeces they had in there for £3

Where is this Mr T's? Do they have a web site?

    I am loving this thread!

Please can anyone tell me the best and chepest of course, place to get thick flannelette sheets from? I did a google search and found a factory link where the prices were great but the p&p (done by weight) was too much for my purse!!

I already have ordinary flannelette sheets but would like to invest in some really thick ones for myself and my ma and MIL (both in their 80's and feeling the chill of Autumn already:eek:).

    Any ideas anyone please?

I'd love to know this too as this is on my list of things to do as I was a bit cold sometimes at night and would like a couple of flat sheets to use this year :D

Thanks, didn't realise that's what people meant. Had never heard anyone referring to the stores by that before!

try tonystextiles (mentioned much earlier in the thread) or m&s, i like the jersey bedding they do better than the flannelette

better dig out my SAD lamp - or all my other preparations will be in vain if i can't get my backside off the sofa come November!

I have two of them. One I use as a table lamp where my laptop is and the newer one is in my bedroom for the winter mornings. I've bought 2 SAD-type lightbulbs but I need to get one more for my bedroom. Any visitors will need shades when they enter my home :D I'd better line the curtains with some cheap fleeces so no-one can't see my 'sunlight' from the outside!

    I need to get:

kingsize quilts collected rom Argos today 19/8
    flannelette sheets
    tights (knee-highs instead)
leather shoes/boots? (if current ones are too worn for repair as they a number of years old)
    fleeces for curtains (bought 30/8)
    long socks (as fleeces)
    pyjamas (as fleeces)
    candles

I'm wondering whether I should get a humidifier for the bathroom/hallway or moisture crystals as I tend to dry my clothes on those areas and, whilst I don't have a problem with damp, I don't want to start it off.

  • Don't know if anyone has suggested it, but we will be making full use of the Wii we bought a few weeks ago. Using it will keep us active, and therefore warm (well that's the theory anyway!)
